Actor George Hutton gave Jackman a shout-out on Jackman’s Instagram thread and his own Instagram page about the filming of the new movie.

“Thank you @thehughjackman. I will treasure these last few months for the rest of my life yet deep down I know this is just the beginning,” he wrote.

“Those who know me will know just how much it means to me working alongside Hugh. This man has been a huge inspiration of mine for many years,” he added. “Not only was it a joy to witness a true artist at work but to genuinely feel mentored and guided was completely priceless. Shooting the breeze, talking about Gaelic football, training, singing and more importantly about our ancient land was truly magical.”

Hutton also wrote about Jackman and the film on X, writing, “That’s a wrap working with the absolute gentleman @RealHughJackman Not only an incredible artist but an incredible mentor. Thank you for your wisdom and friendship.”

According to Variety, the movie contains a new twist on the iconic Robin Hood character. It will showcase Robin Hood, played by Jackman, as a man who is “grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder.”

The film is “one of the hottest packages at this year’s Cannes,” according to Variety, and the U.S. rights have been secured.

According to Variety, the version of Robin Hood in Jackman’s movie is “a battle-worn loner [who] finds himself gravely injured and in the hands of a mysterious woman, who offers him a chance at salvation.”

Director Michael Sarnoski previously was involved in “A Quiet Place: Day One.”

“It has been an incredible opportunity to reinvent and freshly innovate the story we all know of Robin Hood,” Sarnoski told Deadline. “Securing the perfect cast to transform the script to screen was essential. I could not be more thrilled and trusting in Hugh and Jodie to bring this story to life in a powerful and meaningful way.”
