The husband of a “Real Housewives” executive assistant, Lauren Miller, has courageously spoken out on social media to give an update after his wife died immediately following the birth of the couple’s second child.
Miller’s husband Kevin left his statements in the comment section of an Instagram post made by Miller’s employer, Shed Media, announcing her passing. In his message, the bereaved father said, “Lauren is truly the love of my life and I will miss her every moment of everyday.” He added, “She lives on through her children and we have peace knowing she is in heaven with God looking down on us and keeping us safe and filled with love.”
The announcement to which Miller’s husband was replying stated that Lauren Miller “tragically passed away just moments after giving birth to her son, Jackson.” The post also called Miller “a valued member of the Shed team for nearly nine years” and commended her for her contributions to shows such as “The Real Housewives of New York,” “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City,” and “From Paris With Love.” The third slide in the post shows a photo of the family during Miller’s pregnancy with Jackson.
Along with her husband and newborn son, the mother leaves behind a three-year-old daughter.
Lauren Miller’s Cause of Death Has Not Been Made Public
Although it was confirmed by Shed Media that Miller died moments after delivering her child, the exact complications that lead to the tragedy have not been publicly revealed.
A GoFundMe titled “Support for Lauren’s Beloved Family,” which was created on behalf of her husband, gave a few more details on the situation, stating, “We are devastated for her beloved husband, Kevin, who must now unexpectedly take on the sole role of parenting their two children ⦠Emma (3) and newborn Jackson, who is still in the NICU. That the day Lauren was so eagerly awaiting should end in tragedy is truly unfathomable.”
An update later revealed baby Jackson was released from the NICU on Thursday, June 12. The update thanked contributors for their support, saying, “As we cope with our own grief, it has been so incredibly touching to see how this fundraiser has spread.”
Lauren Miller Tragedy Comes Two Months After Instagram Star Hailey Okula Also Died After Childbirth
Lauren Miller is not the only notable media figure to recently die of complications from delivering a baby. In April 2024, NBC reported Instagram star and nursing influencer Hailey Okula, whose handle was @rnnewgrads, had died following the birth of her first child, a son named Crew. The influencer had almost half a million Instagram followers.
Okula’s cause of death was an extremely rare delivery complication called “AFE,” which stands for amniotic fluid embolism. The condition occurs when them mother is allergic to her own amniotic fluid, per WebMD.
A few weeks after the loss, Okula’s husband wrote in a tribute on Easter 2025, “I wish you were here to create the family memories we dreamed about together. I miss you more than words can capture and canât wait for the day I get to see you again. Thank you for being my everything. You always have been and always will be my beautiful angel.”
