I’m A Celebrity fans given hope for jungle romance after star recently ‘split from girlfriend’

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! viewers may have every reason to hope for a jungle romance this series after all.

It comes after rapper Aitch confessed his crush on ex-EastEnders actress Shona McGarty, leaving fans to dub them the new Katie Price and Peter Andre, who got married after meeting on the reality show in 2004.

Earlier this week, the Manchester-born musician – whose real name is Harrison Armstrong – confided in social media star Angry Ginge, saying he had ‘a bit of a soft spot’ for the soap icon, 34.

And in the latest development, it’s been reported that Aitch was 100% single upon entering the camp.

It’s believed that the Taste (Make It Shake) hitmaker was dating psychology student Lois Cottam; hence, some fans were confused when he began flirting with Shona.

But according to The Sun, they parted ways this month ahead of Aitch’s stint Down Under, which has quickly seen him become a favourite.

A source said: ‘Aitch and Lois still have a lot of love for each other, but they decided they are better off as friends.

‘They enjoyed the time they spent together.

‘Things ended amicably between them.’

The insider added that the two 25-year-olds don’t share any ‘bad blood’, and she is rooting for him on the show.

It’s said Aitch dated Lois, from Cheshire, for around a year, with reports surfacing in March that he had whisked her away on a romantic trip to New York.

And while their 12-month relationship also included a getaway to Greek island Santorini, they chose to keep the details private, with Aitch not having shared any photos together online.

His relationship history also includes Australian model Lola Rose Thompson, from whom he split in late 2023.

Their romance was more public, but their breakup turned sour in September when Aitch claimed on a podcast that one of his exes ‘soiled the bed’ during a trip to Bali.

While he did not name names, days later, Lola outed herself in a furious TikTok video, accusing Aitch of being ‘disrespectful’ and exaggerating the incident.

As for EastEnders star Shona – who left her role as Whitney Dean last May – she is also believed to have recently become single.

She was engaged to Irish guitarist David Bracken, who popped the question last year, but they mutually called off their engagement not long before her I’m A Celeb debut.

A source shared with The Sun that things were left on ‘amicable terms’, insisting there were ‘no hard feelings’ between the former lovers.

‘They realised they wanted different things and are better off as friends,’ they explained.

‘Shona is now focusing on her music and career.’

David actually showed his support for Shona with a sweet Instagram Story before this year’s launch show aired, writing: ‘Let’s go girl [muscle emoji] you got this’, alongside a selfie of them together.

But that does mean she and Aitch could be the next hot couple of I’m A Celebrity, which fans are very much here for.

Taking to X after Aitch slyly confessed his feelings, @Coopernator wrote: ‘I’m already deeply committed to the Shona and Aitch Jungle romance, just so everyone knows. How can we aide this from our sofas?’

‘I’m here for Aitch and Shona, they’d make a good couple’, said @unique_rhea.

‘Aitch and Shona the couple we didn’t know we needed’, echoed @mc_chug.

Although not everyone is ‘shipping’ it, with some viewers arguing they could be playing up for a ‘showmance’.

But with Camp Leader Aitch actively choosing to give Shona the easier tasks out of the group, something tells us he definitely feels a spark.
