I’m A Celebrity viewers have claimed that Ant McPartlin is ‘still holding onto anger’ over Dean McCullough’s disastrous attempts at Bushtucker Trials.

The BBC Radio 1 DJ, 32, has struggled with the tasks since day one when he had a breakdown during his ‘worst nightmare’ and ended the Sinister Sarcophagus challenge early.

Such is the British public’s evil sense of humour, Dean has continued to be nominated for every Bushtucker Trial since, and has struggled through each one.

Last night, viewers noticed Ant’s patience was wearing thin after the broadcaster once again had a meltdown – and even later admitted his response had been ‘unprofessional.’

But despite sharing his regret over his curt remarks to Dean, Ant was back at it again tonight when the presenter tackled The High Street of Horrors with Danny Jones, according to viewers.

I’m A Celeb fans claimed on X Ant could not resist making ‘sassy’ quips in Dean’s direction, among them was @_tventhusiast who said: ‘Ant still holding onto anger over Dean quitting the trial yesterday is my level of petty, if Dean says it again Ant might end him!’

@MaddieArksey commented: ‘Danny pushing Dean out the way to go in the crawl space, and Ant laughing maniacally as Dean got electrocuted. the contempt is real #imacelebrity#imaceleb.’

@sarahnaomi151 wrote: ‘Ant is being very sassy with Dean and to be quite honest Dean deserves it #ImACeleb #ImACelebrity.’

Echoing their sentiment, @jnkjude said: “im not angry” “im just disappointed” ant is so fed up with dean #ImACeleb

@LewisWood365 added: ‘Ant is three seconds away from filling Dean in #imacelebrity.’

However, when Dean managed to get through the trial – without declaring I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here – and facing his fear of snakes head-on, Ant said he was ‘proud’ of him and gave him a hug.

That said, some weren’t convinced Ant’s pride was genuine as@itszahrakhanx quipped: ‘#ImACeleb Ant faking being proud of Dean, creasing.’

Dean collected two stars in total, while Danny grabbed an impressive six, meaning the celebrities’ will be tucking into a substantial meal tonight.

Last night, Ant said he felt ‘disappointed’ by Dean’s attempt at a Bushtucker Trial, accused him of ‘not trying properly’ and told him to ‘try harder’ afte he quit.

He even scolded Dean over his inability to see a challenge through, saying: ‘Now Dean, I want to have a word with you. What happened yesterday? No stars. What happened the day before? You said “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.” You can only change the narrative by sticking with it and getting on with it

Ant later reflected on his treatment of Dean on spin-off show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! Unpacked.

When initially asked by host Sam Thompson, Ant joked that he’d told him not to talk about it.

‘My annoyance came across on screen and I was quite unprofessional and I’m not happy about it,’ Ant said while holding up his hands.

Ant explained how he’d reached this point of frustration: ‘You get to the point where you’re like “What are you doing?”‘

Joel Dommett then pointed out the moment where Dean tried to chat with Ant about Benidorm and he rejected it.

Recalling why he didn’t engage, Ant said he didn’t want to make small talk.

I’m A Celebrity continues tomorrow 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
