It has been announced that Gregg Wallace is stepping away from MasterChef amid an investigation into claims of misconduct.

The programme’s production company Banijay UK said that the broadcaster ‘received complaints from individuals in relation to historical allegations of misconduct while working with presenter Gregg Wallace on one of our shows’, stating that the presenter is ‘fully co-operating’.

A BBC spokesperson also said that the company takes ‘any issues that are raised with us very seriously’, and they have ‘robust processes in place to deal with them’.

Wallace, 60, who’s best-known for presenting MasterChef and its spin-off shows, is married to Anne-Marie Sterpini, who’s more than 20 years his junior.

He regularly shares insights into his home life on social media, updating his followers on his fitness regime and his home life in the countryside with his wife and son.

Who is Gregg Wallace’s wife?

At the time of their wedding, Wallace was 51 and Sterpini was 30.

The couple first met on Twitter in 2013, when she contacted him for recipe advice, asking whether rhubarb was a good choice to go with duck.

Folowing Wallace’s response, they arranged to meet for dinner.

He later told Hello! magazine: ‘I just looked at Anna’s photo and thought, “Wow, she’s pretty”, so yes, rhubarb, which was considered an aphrodisiac in medieval times, brought us together.’

Wallace said during an appearance on ITV’s Lorraine that he thinks it was ‘luck’ that he and Sterpini met and admitted that, at first, he was worried about their big age gap – even thought it never bothered his wife.

‘People look at you anyway and I felt really conscious because she was younger and I didn’t want people to judge her harshly,’ he said.

Wallace and Sterpini got engaged in 2014 and later married at Hever Castle in August 2016, before heading off on honeymoon to Portofino on the Amalfi Coast in Italy.

Do Gregg Wallace and wife Anne-Marie have children?

Wallace and Sterpini share a son named Sid Massimo Wallace.

Sid was born in May 2019 and the TV star revealed that his son’s name is a nod to both sides of his family – Sid was the name of Wallace’s grandfather, while Massimo is the name of his Italian father-in-law.

When Sterpini found out that she was pregnant with Sid, she and Wallace had been planning on undergoing IVF treatment after two years of trying to conceive.

Becoming a dad again in his 50s had concerned the MasterChef host, who feared being an older dad.

During an appearance on Loose Women in 2019, shortly after Sid’s birth, hesaid: ‘Well, I did say to Anna I wasn’t sure [about having kids] because by the time you’re my age, normally your children have grown up and you can have time with your wife again. I’m going to be in my 70s when Sid’s 20.’

Wallace is also dad to two other children, son Tom, and daughter Libby, from a previous marriage.

In 2022, the TV star shared that Sid had been diagnosed with autism and is non-verbal.

‘He’s three, you can’t legally diagnose until you’re two and a half in this country. But we knew at about a year old we had some issues,’ he said on Loose Women.

In March this year, Wallace revealed that Sid had achieved a major milestone after saying his first words while counting.

How many times has Gregg Wallace been married?

Wallace has been married four times, and divorced three times.

He wed his first wife Christine in 1991 and later described their marriage as the ‘shortest marriage in the world’ as they went their separate ways after just six weeks.

Wallace then went on to marry former wife Denise – who is mum to his kids Tom and Libby – in 1999 after six years of dating.

They were married for five years, before separating.

The MasterChef star then wed his third wife, biology teacher Heidi Brown in 2010, after also meeting her on Twitter.

They married at Coworth Park in Berkshire, but split just 15 months later.
