Inside Jennifer Aniston & Courteney Cox’s Friendship

Jennifer Aniston & Courteney Cox Friends Then & Now

Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox are feeling nostalgic.

The “Friends” co-stars have both had the TV show that made them lifelong friends on their minds as they pursue separate projects.

Jennifer, in particular, is gearing up for season four of her hit Apple TV show “The Morning Show,” which drops September 17.

In an interview with People, Aniston uses “Friends” as a point of reference when talking about what’s to come on “The Morning Show.”

“‘The Morning Show’ is just a beast to film. It is layered, it’s complicated, it’s emotional, it hits on a lot of topics and current events, so let’s just say, it’s not ‘Friends,’” Jennifer told People.

Aniston indicates that season four of “The Morning Show” is especially complex. And her role both starring in the show and serving as producer (alongside Reese Witherspoon) also ramps up the intensity.

Jennifer told People that the show “takes a lot out of you.”

“We’re involved in every single aspect of the show, on top of just the performance side, which is a big piece of it. But I’ve got incredible support, and we have such an incredible team.”

Courteney Cox Reveals Remembered ‘Friends’ Ritual

Meanwhile, Courteney Cox was thinking of simpler times while at the Inc. 5000, the annual conference and gala celebrating the fastest-growing private companies in America.

According to People, Courteney said while these days she doesn’t “pump herself up” before public appearances or shows, the “Friends” cast had a ritual she thinks fondly of.

“We’d get in a huddle and we would say, ‘Alright everybody! Good luck!’ And we’d give each other a hug and a high five,” said Cox.

“‘Friends’ was shot in front of a live audience, and that was a whole different thing.” she noted. “Now, I do things that are filmed.”

While all the surviving members of the cast stay in close touch, Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston have a particularly close relationship. In fact, Aniston is the godmother of her 21-year-old daughter Coco.

In an Instagram post to celebrate Aniston’s birthday, Cox wrote, “Happy birthday to my friend for life. Never has there been a more generous, loving, beautiful, talented, funny, loyal friend. I feel so lucky to be growing up with you.
Remember our CATS audition? 😉”

Jennifer Aniston Says Season 4 of ‘The Morning Show’ is ‘Really Suspenseful’

As for season four of “The Morning Show,” Jennifer Aniston told People that while filming wrapped last December, “We’re still in post-production, but I think it’s shaping up. It’s really good, it’s really suspenseful.”

Seasons one, two and three of “The Morning Show” are streaming now on Apple TV+. Season four will debut September 17.
