A piece of James Bond history is up for sale. The late Sean Conneryâs former French Riviera villa, famously known as the âBond Villa,â has returned to the market for â¬23.5 million (approximately $26.5 million), according to Mansion Global.
Connery, the iconic actor behind the original James Bond films, owned the elegant Nice, France, estate during the 1970s and 1980s. Though formally named âVilla Roc Fleuri,â or âFlowery Rock,â locals lovingly dubbed it the âBond Villa,â according to Chuck McKee of Savills, the real estate company now representing the property.
A Stunning Blend of History, Luxury, and Modern Amenities
Built in 1930, the Art Decoâstyle villa spans over 10,000 square feet, packed with original features preserved for nearly a century. Highlights include intricate mosaic inlays, elegant wood paneling, ornate wrought-iron banisters, detailed ceiling moldings, and even the original elevator cabin. According to Savills, the rooftop deck provides âarguably the most spectacular view in Nice,â complete with a barbecue space perfect for entertaining.
The main residence features five bedrooms and five bathrooms, including a sprawling primary suite that occupies the entire top floor and boasts two en-suite bathrooms. For wellness enthusiasts, the homeâs spa area includes a gym and a stunning heated infinity pool that, as McKee describes, âfeels like itâs overflowing into the sea.â
In addition to the main house, the estate includes a separate caretakerâs apartment and a guest villa near the entrance, divided into two distinct apartments.
Revamped Grounds and Legacy
According to Page Six, the current owners, whose identities have not been disclosed, have owned the villa since 2015. Since purchasing the legendary property, they undertook extensive renovations, upgrading everything from the heating and air conditioning systems to the bathrooms and landscaping.
The revamped grounds now include flat lawns, garden paths, and a private trail leading directly to the rocks along the coastline. While the villa was previously listed in 2020 for â¬30 million, its return to the market at â¬23.5 million offers a rare chance to own a slice of movie history.
Interestingly, this wasnât Conneryâs only French estate. In 1979, he purchased Domaine de Terre Blanche, a château located about 45 minutes away in Tourrettes. Connery held that property for two decades before selling it to billionaire Dietmar Hopp, who later transformed it into a luxury resort.
