Irritated BBC reporter storms out of interview after celebrity’s ‘lookalike’ stunt

A frustrated BBC presenter stormed out of an interview after flying to the other side of the world, only to have been pranked.

Contrvorsial social media personality Logan Paul was due to be interviewed by the BBC for allegations over a failed crypto project.

The 29-year-old has been accused of profiting from misleading fans, and has denied any wrongdoing.

In a BBC investigation, Logan Paul: Bad Influence, journalist Matt Shea was uncovering the allegations and trying to speak to Paul himself.

However, he was left rather irritated when he was instead confronted with a lookalike.

In a clip in the documentary, filmmaker Shea looks around the room and notices a ‘suspicious’ amount of Paul’s cameras while waiting for him to turn up.

‘All of a sudden, it becomes clear why,’ Shea says, as ‘Paul’ walks into the room.

But, it’s not actually him at all.

Shea flew to Puerto Rico for the interview, but was left questioning the lookalike instead.

‘You look different,’ he chuckles, as ‘Paul’ replies: ‘I’m locked in, ready for this interview, do you have any questions?’

‘I have to say, the real Logan Paul looks very different,’ Shea says.

‘Is Logan coming?’ he then asks the team behind the camera, while the lookalike insists he’s the real Paul.

‘I am a serious person,’ he claims.

Shea then chuckles and says: ‘Let’s just get out of here, I’m not doing this.’

The interview is then interrupted by the lookalike and a group of people protesting, shoving a mic and camera in the journalist’s face.

‘Let’s get out of here,’ Shea says, walking off.

He adds in the documentary: ‘So rather than defend himself against the allegations we’ve been investigating, Logan decided to troll us.

‘Minutes after leaving the gym, we receive a letter from lawyers on behalf of Logan Paul, warning us against publishing our allegations.

‘But these allegations against him aren’t going away, in fact, they’ve been building since 2021.’

As per the BBC investigation, Paul is accused of promoting crypto investments to his followers without disclosing financial interests.

He is alleged to have profited, with the broadcaster claiming that in 2021, the YouTuber shared a social media post about a particular crypto coin in 2021,and that ‘an anonymous crypto wallet with close connections to his public wallet had traded in the coin’.

It’s claimed that anonymous wallet made $121,000 (£92,000) in profit.

Metro has approached Logan Paul’s reps for comment.
