The “Confessions of a Shopaholic’ actress, 49, took to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, July 15, to reshare a viral quote about modern-day marriage. Her take on marriage comes just weeks after finalizing her divorce from actor Sacha Baron Cohen.

As per Daily Mail, Isla wrote: “For all those men who say ‘Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?’ Here’s an update for you,” the quote read. “Nowadays, 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it’s not worth buying an entire pig, just to get a little sausage.”

Her repost quickly caught fans’ attention not just for its cheeky tone, but because of its timing.

Fisher & Baron Cohen Finalized Divorce After 13 Years of Marriage

As per People, the divorce became official on June 13, nearly a year after the former couple initially filed to end their marriage. In a joint statement shared via Instagram Stories, Fisher & Baron Cohen announced: “Our divorce has now been finalised. We are proud of all we’ve achieved together and, continuing our great respect for each other, we remain friends and committed to co-parenting our wonderful children. We ask for the media to continue to respect our children’s privacy.”

Fisher & Baron Cohen were together for over two decades. After getting engaged in 2004, they tied the knot in 2010 and went on to have three children — two daughters and a son — while maintaining a low profile around their family life.

Despite the split, the pair continues to show mutual respect and affection, especially when it comes to parenting. Just days after their divorce was finalized, Fisher posted a heartfelt Father’s Day tribute to Cohen on June 16. In February of this year, Fisher spoke to The Sunday Times and said that end of her marriage was “the most difficult thing I’ve been through.” “[I] learned so much about myself in the process,” she continued. “I never imagined my family being separated, but we are committed and loving parents.”

Even ahead of the divorce announcement, the couple was engaging warmly online. Back in February, Fisher shared a flirty Valentine’s Day post featuring a glamorous photo of herself from a Sunday Times photoshoot. As per People, Isla wrote: “Happy Valentine’s Day 💕,” Baron Cohen responded in the comments, writing, “Stunning photoshoot.” Fisher replied with a simple, “Thank you 😊.”

Fosher and Cohen’s public interactions earlier suggested that their spirit of camaraderie stayed intact.
