Jack Osbourne took to social media for the fist time since his dad Ozzy Osbourne‘s passing to post an emotional video montage. Jack shared a reel on Instagram on August 6 that features he and his dad through the years, set to the tune of Ozzy’s song “So Tired.”
The video opens with a young Jack appearing on a 1997 episode of “The Howard Stern Show” alongside his dad. Stern is heard saying, “How cool is it having Ozzy as a dad?” to which Jack replies “Very cool.” The clip is followed by never-before-seen photos of Ozzy with Jack as a baby and the two of them together over time.
Towards the end of the video Ozzy is shown hanging out with Jack as an adult along with his 4 daughters, Pearl, Andy, Minnie, and Maple. It’s a deeply emotional expression of the passage of time and the love Jack has for his dad.
Why Jack Waited to Post About Ozzy

Jack’s wife Aree Gearheart penned a loving tribute to her late father-in-law on August 4, calling the Black Sabbath frontman “the coolest father in law around, and the best papa to my kids.”
But Jack had yet to break his social media silence and explains why in the caption of his new post. “I havenât really wanted to post anything since the passing of my father,” Jack wrote. “My heart has hurt too much.”
He went on to write, “Iâm gonna keep this short because he certainly hated long rambling speeches. He was so many things to so many people, but I was so lucky and blessed to be apart of a very small group that got to call him ‘Dad.’”
Jack continued, “My heart is full of so much sadness and sorrow, but also so much love and gratitude. I got 14,501 days with that man and I know that is such a blessing.”
Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22 from a heart attack. The loss of the rock legend was felt across the world, but hit his family the hardest. During Ozzy’s funeral held on July 30 in Birmingham, England, the Osbourne family, including Ozzy’s wife Sharon and his children Aimee, Louis, Kelly and Jack held on to each other for support.
The Quote Jack Says ‘Best Describes My Father’
Included in Jack’s heartbreaking tribute to his father was with a quote by Hunter S. Thompson. “I think this quote best describes my father,” Jack wrote. “Hunter S. Thompson once said:
âLife should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty
and well-preserved body…
but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out,
and loudly proclaiming,
âWow! What a ride!ââ
Jack concluded the post with, “That was my dad. He lived and he lived his life fully. I love you dad.”
