It has been rumoured that Oasis is being eyed up to perform the James Bond theme tune in the upcoming film.
Liam Gallagher, 53, and Noel Gallagher, 58, finally reunited for their long-awaited reunion tour earlier this year, delighting fans after a decade-long public feud between the brothers.
It has now been rumoured that the band will reach a new milestone, as it’s reported that the group is being eyed up to join the impressive list of artists who have performed a 007 theme tune.
A source told The Sun: ‘The 007 films are one of the great British franchises.
‘And who better to record the theme song than one of the greatest ever British bands?
‘Liam’s swagger and Noel’s anthemic music would be perfect to soundtrack the new film.’
The source added that they believe that Noel would be keen to join the number of artists who have performed the theme tune.
‘It is no secret that Noel is a big fan of the Bond films and he would love to have his name listed as one of the few songwriters of a Bond theme amongst greats like Sir Paul McCartney, Duran Duran and Adele,’ they said.
It is true that the singer has previously written Bond tunes that didn’t quite make the mark.
He previously told NME that he was irritated Jack White had written the theme for Quantum Of Solace: ‘It’s a p**s-take that the greatest British agent of all time has to be soundtracked by a bunch of f***ing Americans.
‘I’ve written a couple of Bond theme tunes,’ he added. ‘They haven’t got very Bond-esque titles, so I would have to tailor the title accordingly. The latest one that I wrote, I listened back to it thinking, “F*****g hell man, that’d make a fing great Bond theme”.’
Several pop stars have revealed in the past that they have written Bond songs that weren’t selected.
Lana Del Rey has revealed that one of her most iconic songs, 24, was written specifically for Bond, but it was rejected in favour of another artist.
‘I wrote that for them,’ she revealed to the BBC.‘Sam, you did a wonderful job,’ said Lana humbly, as she admitted she isn’t giving up on singing a Bond theme tune sometime in the future.
‘One day, maybe…
‘But I’m going to continue to do my little Nancy Sinatra thing every now and then and just pretend it’s the title track.’

Ever since Daniel Craig stepped down as James Bond in 2021, there has been a lot of speculation about who will play 007 next. Slow Horses star Jack Lowden, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Callum Turner, and Theo James have all been front-runners for some time.
But Deadline confirmed that director Denis Villeneuve is looking for three things in the next 007: a man, a Brit, and an unknown.
The latest film will be a new chapter for the beloved character as the Canadian director, best known for directing Dune and Dune: Part Two, makes the film alongside Amazon MGM Studios.
