Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez to Say “I Do” in Iconic Italian Style

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are preparing to tie the knot in one of the most anticipated celebrity weddings of the decade. The Amazon founder and Emmy-winning journalist will host a multi-day celebration beginning June 24 in Venice, according to the Associated Press.

Two years after Bezos proposed with a 30-carat ring during a romantic trip to Europe, final preparations are underway for what insiders are calling a breathtaking, star-packed event.

“I have to say, I do have a Pinterest,” Sánchez joked in a November 2024 interview on “Today.” “I’m just like every other bride.”

While the couple has remained private about many details, key information about the venue, guest list, dress, and event planning have started to emerge.

Venice Venue, High-Profile Guests, and Sustainability

Despite speculation of a $600 million Aspen winter wedding, the couple opted for a more romantic setting: Venice, Italy. The city’s mayor, Luigi Brugnaro, confirmed the plans and reassured locals the wedding would respect Venice’s historic charm.

“The many speculations and fake news circulating about Jeff Bezos’ wedding are completely unfounded,” Brugnaro stated in a release obtained by People. He added that only 200 guests were invited and the event would be mindful of Venice’s fragility.

“I don’t see how an event with 200 people can create disruptions. It’s responsible tourism,” Salva told the Associated Press. “It’s prestigious that a couple like this, who can go anywhere in the world, are getting married in the city.”

While the exact location hasn’t been confirmed, possibilities include Bezos’ $500 million yacht, Koru, and the historic San Giorgio Maggiore island. Other rumored venues include the Scuola Grande della Misericordia.

The guest list reflects the couple’s status. According to Forbes, invitations reportedly went to Oprah Winfrey, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Salma Hayek, Barbra Streisand, and members of Sánchez’s Blue Origin space crew, including Katy Perry and Gayle King.

Rather than gifts, guests have been encouraged to donate to charity.

Dressed to Impress, Planned to Perfection

Though no designer has been officially confirmed, Anna Wintour is reportedly helping Sánchez select her gown, with Oscar de la Renta as a top contender, per The Hollywood Reporter.

As reported by The Cut, event firm Lanza & Baucina Limited is producing the wedding. The company has a history of planning high-profile weddings in Venice, including ceremonies for the Clooneys and Hayek-Pinaults.

In a statement to Page Six, the firm emphasized its commitment to minimizing disruptions. “From the outset, instructions from our client and our own guiding principles were abundantly clear: the minimising of any disruption to the city, the respect for its residents and institutions and the overwhelming employment of locals in the crafting of the events,” they said.

Bezos and Sánchez’s wedding is set to blend luxury, intimacy, and global attention—an affair worthy of two of the world’s most influential figures.
