Jenny Mccarthy Reveals Secret to Her Long Marriage With Fellow Actor and Musician

Celebrity relationships are not typically associated with long and happy marriages but that doesn’t mean that some Hollywood couples have stood the test of time. Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg are one such example and the “The Masked Singer” judge has opened up about what she perceives is the secret to their long marriage in an interview with Wonderwall.com.

The nature of the entertainment jobs that both McCarthy and Wahlberg have means they often work in different areas around the country and spend a lot of time apart. McCarthy believes that the most important element in their relationship to overcome this issue is for the pair to have a strong foundation. 

“I’m super proud of the foundation that we built,” she says. “Both of us work in different states, so we know that in order to have this deep, passionate, respectful love, you need a good foundation.”

She continued, “How do you have a good foundation? By building trust and maintaining loyalty — but then also doing work. I have a thing that I call the three C’s, which is the secret to a good marriage.”

McCarthy went on to reveal exactly what this means and how it plays such a big part in her and Wahlberg’s marriage. “It’s cuddling, communication and curiosity,” she explains. “Without communication, you fight and resentment builds. Without curiosity, things get boring. Even though you might know your partner’s answers to your questions, it’s a beautiful thing to get curious as to why they like certain things — because then it just evolves, your relationship evolves and grows.”

The Pair Have Been Together for More Than a Decade

The pair have been dating since 2013 and became engaged in 2014. McCarthy announced that Wahlberg had proposed during an appearance on “The View” and they later married in the same year according to US Weekly.

Wahlberg is the brother of Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg and is a founding member of the band New Kids on the Block. He also has had leading roles in the likes of “Blue Bloods” and “Band of Brothers.” 
Earlier this year, the couple posted tributes to a loving fan and friend who had become close to both of them. In touching Instagram posts, both McCarthy and Wahlberg revealed their hurt at the loss and celebrated Kelly’s life, a fan who had followed the New Kids on the Block musician for several years.
