âDeliver Me From Nowhereâ is writer-director Scott Cooperâs latest biopic that also features âSuccessionâ star Jeremy Strong as Springsteen’s manager and record producer Jon Landau.
The movie follows the making of the 1982 album âNebraska,â one of the singerâs more personal and popular records. Tracks on the record include the title song, âAtlantic City,â and âHighway Patrolman.â
âDeliver Me From Nowhereâ also stars Stephen Graham, Odessa Young, Paul Walter Hauser, Gaby Hoffmann, Johnny Cannizzaro, Harrison Gilbertson, Marc Maron, David Krumholtz and Chris Jaymes.
Glory Days
The movie marks Cooperâs second musically driven film following 2009âs âCrazy Heartâ that follows Jeff Bridges as a Hank Thompson-esque country star who is looking for a new lease on life.
The movieâs title and subject matter follow author Warren Zanesâ 2023 book subtitled âThe Making of Bruce Spingsteenâs Nebraska.â Â
âNebraskaâ is one of Spingsteenâs most lauded records. Since its release, retrospective reviews paint the album as one of the best in the singerâs catalogue. Rolling Stone ranked it as 43rd in the magazineâs â100 Greatest Albums of the 1980âs.â It ranked similarly in other publications including Slant Magazine, NME, Spine, Paste and more.
In 2023, Springsteen spoke to CBS Sunday Mornings about the importance of âNebraska.â In the interview, he talked about how personal the record came out to be. Plus, his evolution as a singer-songwriter.
âDeliver Me From Nowhereâ is set to release on October 24, 2025.
