Clarkson’s Farm fans have begged Jeremy Clarkson to continue filming after sharing a behind the scenes update on the latest series.

The 65-year-old former Top Gear and Grand Tour host has been open in the past about ‘taking a break’ from filming after suffering health setbacks and ongoing problems with his farm.

Last month, the Diddly Squat Farm owner shared how he had suffered a ‘catastrophic’ harvest after a deadly outbreak of bovine tuberculosis (bTB) hit his livestock.

He quipped in an interview with The Times: ‘I’d do a sixth [series] if there was a reason for doing it, like a bloody good story. But if, say, my back turns out to be cancerous then I wouldn’t.’

Now, however, after sharing an image on his Instagram with the caption: ‘Season 5. It’s a wrap,’ fans have flooded to the comments section to demand it’s not the end.

Commenting on the post, which included Jeremy alongside Kaleb, Gerald Cooper and his girlfriend Lisa Hogan, @aakalistatov said: ‘Please, don’t stop.’

@olesiakrinchinia added: ‘This is the only show I want to see 20 seasons of 😍.’

Jeremy has confirmed that there will definitely be a ‘short break’ after the fifth series.

He added: ‘Whatever happens we’ll definitely take a short break as the crews are all worn out. We’ve been filming here two or three days a week, every week, for five years. Everybody could do with a rest.’

But despite the upcoming pause, Jeremy – who opened his own pub, the Farmer’s Dog, last year – admitted he has no plans to retire from work.

‘I’d just be an alcoholic if I stopped working, what else would I do? I have no hobbies, I’m good at nothing. Some people enjoy playing golf, fishing or whatever. When they retire, they can indulge themselves in their hobby on a more full-time basis,’ he pointed out.

‘I’m not really interested in anything particularly. What would I do? Watercolour paint? Birdwatch? I wouldn’t be able to fill the day. No, I enjoy having lots of different jobs to do.’

After making headlines earlier this month for ‘seriously considering’ banning people with food intolerances from his pub, Jeremy once again raised eyebrows after taking a swipe at Stacey Solomon’s show after his National Television Awards win.

The 65-year-old’s Amazon Prime series picked up the award for Factual Entertainment show, beating  Gogglebox, The Martin Lewis Money Show and two of Stacey’s programmes – Sort Your Life Out and Stacey & Joe.

Celebrating in the winners’ room afterwards, the presenter and TV personality reportedly said to the press: ‘It’s great that a farming show can beat a house cleaning show,’ according to the Mirror.

He also added that his team ‘worked way harder than anyone else in this room’ during his acceptance speech.
