Kaleb Cooper, has some news for his fans: he’s leaving Chipping Norton to go down under – and Jeremy Clarkson had something to say about it.

The farmer became a star after appearing on Clarkson’s Farm, helping Jeremy get to grips with the basics since series 1 of the show.

This week, Cooper announced on Instagram that he’s going to be launching his own TV show, writing: ‘I’m going to be going down under/to Australia to film my very own series on Prime Video.’

Jeremy Clarkson responded jokingly: ‘I’m so happy about this. Because finally I can run my farm without him mucking everything up.’

The comment received over 40,000 likes and is emblematic of their relationship in which they often poke fun at each other.

Cooper went on in his post: ‘You know how hard it is for me to leave Chippy [Chipping Norton] so flying to Australia is definitely taking me out of my comfort zone.’

He added: ‘I’m on a mission to see if I can make my farming contracting business go international.’

Kaleb: Down Under will be a four-part series following the 27-year-old as he experiences farming in a new climate.

Cooper has never been on a plane before and admits having a ‘borderline unhealthy obsession with Chipping Norton’.

In a statement, he said: ‘I got brave and booked my first ever flight to see what all the fuss was about.’

The father-of-three will be 10,000 miles away as he takes on new challenges, meets Australian farmers and immerses himself in local culture.

Cooper’s announcement was received warmly on Instagram.

What did Metro think of Clarkson’s Farm season 4?

Read Metro reporter Laura Harman’s two-star review…

I watched the first series with my dad in 2021, and was surprised to find that I thought it was fantastic. I enjoyed the second and third seasons too, but this recent fourth season on Amazon Prime sadly doesn’t quite hit the spot.

Perhaps it’s just reality that, after years as a farmer, Jeremy is still an amateur, facing the same issues as always, and can’t invent new ones to entertain viewers.

Former Love Islander and Australian-born media personality, Jessie Renée Wynter, said: ‘How exciting!! Can’t wait to see what you think of the Aussie farms! Congrats Kaleb!’

Instagram user @shaneyboy112 commented: ‘You got this Kaleb! Looking forward to seeing you take on baren deserts and dense outback foliage’.

Lisa Kearns added: ‘Please, the flight needs to be video documented 😂😂’.

Since featuring on Clarkson’s farm, he’s created a media presence for himself with three million followers on Instagram.

Filming for Kaleb: Down Under begins this autumn, but an official release date hasn’t been announced.

Meanwhile, a few days ago, Clarkson confirmed that the Clarkson’s Farm cameras had been sent away for a ‘break’ after filming wrapped on season five.

Writing in his column for The Sun, he said: ‘We’ve sent the cameras away to give us a break from that side of things for a while.

‘But yup. Kaleb’s out there now in his tractor and after I’ve finished writing this, I’ll be joining him. The show goes on.’

Clarkson’s Farm is available to stream on Amazon Prime.
