The late-night host, 50, took to Instagram with an emotional message honoring his furry companion, who had been part of the Fallon family for over 13 years. “She was the last name we signed on every birthday card,” Fallon began his touching note. “She was our first baby, a therapist, a pillow, a big sister, a schoolmarm, a comedian, a party girl, and a rebel.”

He added with humor, “Definitely not a watchdog — she would have let burglars in and shown them where we kept the bacon and American cheese slices.”

Remembering Gary’s Playful Spirit

Fallon’s message painted a vivid picture of Gary’s personality and the joy she brought to his home. “Always smiling even when she slept,” he wrote. “She loved a good scratch and would lean into you if she liked you — though ‘if’ is generous, she did this for basically everyone.”

He recalled how Gary loved swimming, even right after bath time. “She would jump into the pool immediately after being shampooed and dried (noooooo!) then she’d do her laps (backstroke – jk doggie paddle),” he joked. “Then she’d lie in the grass on her back doing bunny kicks with her tongue sticking out. That meant summer to me.”

‘The Quiet Is So Loud’

Fallon reflected on how much Gary’s absence has changed the atmosphere at home. “Franny, Winnie, Mommy and I miss you. The house misses you,” he shared. “The house is so quiet. The quiet is so loud.”

The comedian noted that although the silence feels heavy, his family is finding comfort in remembering their happy moments. “But that quiet is slowly being filled with stories about you and laughter amongst the sniffles,” he wrote. “Thank you for everything. Gosh, we miss you so much.”
