All is fair in love and war, and all is fair when you’re Joel Dommett on The One Show couch talking about your Masked Singer co-star, Maya Jama.
The comedian, 39, appeared on the BBC talk show this evening alongside the recently eliminated Dame Prue Leith, where they discussed her departure.
And while he was sad to see her go, it seems he isn’t sad to be seeing Masked Singer celebrity panellist Maya, 30, film another episode of the hit reality show, as he admitted it’s nice to see her in a studio rather than jet setting around the globe.
Maya is the latest edition to the panel of celebrities on the show and joins Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, and Mo Gilligan in guessing who the singing celebrity contestant is disguised in an elaborate costume.
It’s quite the change from her usual Love Island hosting gig, which usually sees her jetting off somewhere exotic like South Africa or Mallorca, Spain.
Maya has been known to spend her free time going on luxury vacations, travelling by private jet or flying business class, as well as making the most of her island getaways with the odd yacht day.

Making a slight dig at the TV star for her change of scenery, Joel told The One Show hosts Alex Jones and Lauren Laverne that he gets a bit of satisfaction from Maya’s gig, telling them he thinks it’s ‘great’.
‘It’s so great to see Maya next to Jonathan because she’s, you know, you see on her social media, she’s on yachts and she’s hanging out with rappers in the coolest places in Cannes,’ he cheekily quipped.
Continuing with a chuckle, the father of one added: ‘I just love seeing her sat next to Jonathan Ross in a studio in Bovington revealing Pegasus is Prue Leith, what a joy.’
The star is currently in South Africa where she is filming the latest season of Love Island All Stars, which starts on ITV next Monday, January 13 at 9pm.

Maya keeps the company of many high profile friends and previously dated UK rapper, Stormzy until their shock split last July.
Joel’s cheeky jab comes after Bake Off icon Dame Prue, 84, was the second celebrity to be revealed in the latest season of the singing competition show.
Discussing her departure tonight, Dame Prue was happy that she gave it a go considering she had never sung before, and even happier that her outfit didn’t make her look ‘ugly’.

She admitted that before going on the show, she knew she wanted a costume that made her feel ‘elegant’ and enjoyed how the Pegasus costume was basically a dress with a horse head.
Dame Prue, 84, is believed to be the oldest-ever contestant on the UK version of the show, and her riddle was: ‘Pegasus is timeless, who cares about age? If you’ve got the right words, you can command any stage.’
After being unveiled, Dame Prue admitted she had ‘never sung a note [and I’m] tone deaf, so I’ve been having lessons this whole time!’.
However, she enjoyed the experience, and when Joel asked her what her friend and co-worker Paul would think, she responded: ‘He’ll say, “You’re completely mad, you keep doing these things, why don’t you relax and just do Bake Off?”‘
The One Show airs weeknights at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
The Masked Singer airs each weekend on ITV1 and ITVX.
