John Mulaney and Olivia Munn have surprised fans by revealing the name of their second child, who was welcomed via an ‘angel’ surrogate.

The couple revealed baby Méi June Mulaney ‘came into the world’ on September 14, months after they tied the knot.

Olivia, 44, shared snaps of the newborn with her husband, 42, on Instagram and shared an emotional message about motherhood.

The actress was unable to become pregnant after being treated for breast cancer last year, which resulted in medically induced menopause and a double mastectomy.

Noting that Méi was born in ‘the year or the dragon’, Olivia wrote: ‘I had so many profound emotions about not being able to carry my daughter.

‘When I first met our gestational surrogate we spoke mother to mother. She showed me so much grace and understanding, I knew I had found a real-life angel.’

Olivia had an egg retrieval procedure during her cancer treatment to ensure she could grow her family should she wish to.

She continued: ‘Words cannot express my gratitude that she kept our baby safe for 9 months and made our dreams come true.

‘I am so proud of my little plum, my little dragon for making the journey to be with us. My heart has exploded.’

The post then clarified that it was pronounced May and ‘means plum in Chinese 梅💜’.

The former Saturday Night Live star also shared a similar update but instead of his thoughts on parenthood, he wrote: ‘We stole so much stuff from the hospital. I love my little girl so much.’

John and Olivia also have a son named Malcolm who was born in November 2021, with the couple frequently sharing updates with fans.

In April, the X-Men: Apocalypse actress told People how much she adores being a parent.

She said: ‘When I’m with him, it’s the only time my brain doesn’t think about being sick. I’m just so happy with him and it puts a lot of stuff into perspective.

‘Because if my body changes, I’m still his mom. If I have hot flashes, I’m still his mom. If I lose my hair, I’m still his mom. That’s really what matters the most to me. I get to be here for him.’

The pair wed at an intimate ceremony at a friend’s New York home earlier this year, with co-star Sam Waterston officiating.

It’s thought Malcolm was one of the only guests allowed at the wedding as well as one unnamed witness.

John split from his ex-wife Anna Marie Tendler three years ago after struggling with substance abuse, with the divorce finalised in June 2022.
