John Stamos is paying tribute to the man who shaped his life. The “Full House” star shared a touching message on Instagram in honor of his late father William John Stamos’ birthday, describing him as his âheroâ and âbest friend.â
âHappy heavenly birthday, Dad,â Stamos began. âYou were my hero, my best friend, and the greatest example of what it means to be a man. Everything good I try to be started with youâthe way you treated people, the way you showed up, the way you loved Mom and our family without ever needing to say a word.â
A Son Carrying His Fatherâs Legacy
Stamos reflected on how his fatherâs influence continues to shape his life and parenting. âEven though youâre gone, I still hear your voice guiding meâin my heart, in my hands, in how I try to be a father to my own son,â he wrote.
GettyThe actor, who shares 6-year-old Billy with wife Caitlin McHugh, added, âEvery time Billy laughs, asks a question, or looks up at me for guidance, I feel you right there, reminding me what matters most: show up, be kind, work hard, love deeply.â

A Bond That Time Couldnât Break
Stamos has long been open about the special bond he shared with his parents. After his fatherâs passing in 1998, he also lost his mother, Loretta Stamos, in 2014. âThey taught me to be kind and to be generous and to be loving to everyone that you meet on this journey,â he once said at the TV Land Icon Awards.
