Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner‘s son Nick Reiner is in custody following the deaths of his parents on Sunday, December 14, according to TMZ. The outlet reported Monday morning that Nick, 32, was arrested and being held by the Los Angeles Police Department on $4 million bail.

The New York Post added that Nick was “detained Sunday night.”

Nick is one of Rob and Michele’s three children. Rob also adopted daughter Tracy during his first marriage to Penny Marshall.

Tracy is Reiner’s oldest daughter and she has now broken her silence following the deaths of her father and his wife.

“I came from the greatest family ever,” she told NBC News. “I don’t know what to say. I’m in shock.”

The family also released a statement on Sunday night.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time,” his family said in a statement, via Variety.

The outlet added that their deaths are being “investigated as a homicide.”

In 2016, Rob directed “Being Charlie,” which was a film co-written by his son Nick that stemmed from his struggles with addiction and homelessness. This project allowed Rob to understand what his son was going through.

“It was very personal,” Reiner told TODAY during a 2016 appearance. “What I didn’t understand is the depth of what [Nick] was going through.”

“The process of making this film not only forced me to see what he was experiencing, but I think it forced him to see what I went through and what his mother went through,” he added. “Hopefully the film is a reflection of that.”

Actors Billy Crystal and Larry David were both seen at Rob Reiner’s house following news of the legendary actor’s tragic passing, PEOPLE reports. The two arrived separately at the house on December 14.

ABC 7 Los Angeles added that Crystal and David “stayed briefly before departing,” with a neighbor saying Crystal “looked like he was about to cry.”
