You can be a star â but that doesnât always guarantee a spot on your own daughterâs guest list. Justin Hartley had a proud dad moment this week, posing on the pink carpet with 20-year-old daughter Isabella. However, he may still be sitting out her upcoming 21st birthday plans.
The “This Is Us” star hit the pink carpet for the Los Angeles premiere of his new action-comedy “Bride Hard” on Wednesday night, posing with his 20-year-old daughter, Isabella Justice Hartley, and wife Sofia Pernas.
While celebrating his latest role, Hartley candidly revealed to TooFab that heâs not exactly sure what Isabella has planned for her 21st birthday â and admitted he hasnât been clued in.
Hartley Says He Hasnât Been Invited to Isabellaâs 21st Bash
âI don’t know how that happened. I mean … It was like overnight,â Hartley told TooFab on the pink carpet, reflecting on how quickly Isabella has grown.
The actor shares his daughter with his ex-wife and former “Passions” co-star Lindsay Hartley.
In “Bride Hard” â billed as Die Hard meets Bridesmaids â Hartleyâs character experiences a few father-of-the-bride moments on-screen, a life moment the actor admits will be emotional when it happens in real life.
“There will be that moment, won’t there? Yeah,” he said.
“That’ll be a bittersweet moment. I can imagine you being so happy for them. They found someone that loves them. But also, it really is a … There’s no going back after that, right? It’s got to be [emotional].”
When it comes to Isabellaâs 21st birthday next week, Hartley revealed heâs still waiting for an invite.
“I have not been invited to whatever they have planned,” he told TooFab.
“I asked her,” he recalled. “I was like, ‘Someone asked me, so what are you guys doing for her 21st birthday?’ And I was like, ‘I haven’t gotten the invite.’ So I asked her, ‘What are we doing for your 21st birthday?’ And she was like, ‘Well… I…,’ And I was like, ‘Oh, yes, of course..’”
Despite the lack of an official invite, Hartley proudly posed next to Isabella on the pink carpet â and when reminded sheâll soon be of legal drinking age, his reaction was priceless.

In “Bride Hard”, Hartley joins an all-star cast â including a mini “Pitch Perfect” reunion with Rebel Wilson and Anna Camp.
Camp stars as the bride, while Wilson plays a secret agent whose mission complicates the wedding festivities. The cast also features Anna Chlumsky and DaâVine Joy Randolph.
Bride Hard hits theaters on June 20.
