Kate Lawler has said that if she hadn’t met her husband, she wouldn’t have had children.
The Big Brother winner, 45, married Martin Bojtos in 2022 after they began dating in 2020.
At age 40, Kate welcomed her first child, Noa, previously stating that she and Martin only wanted one child.
Speaking to the i Paper, the radio DJ revealed that if she hadn’t met Martin, she wouldn’t have had children.
‘I’d be a dog mum,’ she continued. ‘He was instrumental in my decision; he really wanted it.’
She went on to say that when she and Martin met in 2013, she was upfront in that she did not want to get married or have children.

The TV presenter said that her husband asked about the prospect of having a child a few years later.
‘I told him, “It’s not for me, babes, but I’d happily get another dog,” she recalled.
‘So we got another dog, and I was such a loving dog mama that all my maternal joy was radiating towards my two dogs: I treated them like babies.’
She said that Martin ‘just kept on’ and asked her to ‘give him some kind of hope’ when it came to having children, and at 40, she changed her mind.
‘We went to a fertility clinic the year before, and [the doctor] said I was really close to perimenopause,’ she said.
‘My egg reserve was very low. Getting the results made me cry. And I thought: “Why am I upset? Maybe I do want children”.’

She announced her pregnancy with Noa in 2021, telling Hello! magazine she had ‘never felt more ready’ to have a baby.
‘For a lot of my life I did feel pressurised and I wasn’t ready,’ she told the publication. ‘You have to do what’s right for you.
‘I think I am going to be a much happier person knowing that I did this when I wanted to.’
Last year, Kate opened up about her marriage to Martin, sharing that they had attended couples therapy after the ‘toughest time in their relationship.’
After giving birth to Noa, she worried that Martin ‘wanted to break up’ with her, as he suggested having couples therapy.
‘Martin was the one to suggest it, around a year after I had Noa,’ she told New Magazine.

‘I wasn’t in the best place, and it was having a huge impact on our relationship.’
She went on: ‘Plus we were getting married six months later and Martin just wanted to start our marriage on the right foot, which was totally the right thing.
‘When he brought it up, though, I panicked and thought he wanted to break up with me.
‘It was the toughest part of our relationship.’
She added that the therapy turned out to be ‘invaluable’ and they ‘still do it every few months.’
