Kate Middleton made a graceful solo appearance at Wimbledon on Saturday—but it wasn’t just her classic cream Self-Portrait dress or polished Gianvito Rossi heels that had fans buzzing. For the first time since her cancer treatment began, the Princess of Wales added her iconic sapphire engagement ring back into the mix.

The Princess of Wales, 43, attended the Ladies’ Singles Final at Wimbledon on July 12 wearing a bespoke Self-Portrait dress featuring a structured collar, pleated skirt, and belted waist. But royal watchers quickly zeroed in on her hands—specifically, her left ring finger.

For the first time since stepping back from royal duties to undergo preventative chemotherapy, Kate wore all four of her signature rings at once: her gold wedding band, a diamond eternity ring gifted by Prince William after the birth of Prince George, a newer sapphire and diamond eternity ring by Cartier, and most notably, her heirloom sapphire engagement ring, previously worn by Princess Diana. According to the Antique Jewellery Company, the ring alone is worth up to £400,000.

The Princess of Wales Completed Her Look With More Sentimental Accessories

Princess Kate completed her look with several sentimental and fashionable touches. She accessorized with her Ballon Bleu de Cartier watch—gifted to her by William for their third anniversary in 2014—and her go-to Cartier Trinity hoop earrings. A Halcyon Days gold bangle, Ralph Lauren sunglasses, and the traditional purple-and-green Wimbledon pin added extra polish.

Her outfit echoed a similar Self-Portrait dress worn during the 2023 Ladies’ Final, signaling a quiet continuity in her royal wardrobe. According to What Kate Wore, this year’s dress was a bespoke version from the brand’s collection.

Kate Middleton Returned on Sunday and Brought the Family

On July 13, Kate returned to Centre Court with Prince William and two of their three children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, wearing a royal blue Roksanda dress paired with Ralph Lauren pumps, an LK Bennett straw sun hat, and an Anya Hindmarch tote. Once again, she wore her Cartier Trinity earrings and sapphire ring—keeping the same elegant jewelry theme across both appearances.

The Princess of Wales, who has served as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 2016, was praised online for her poise and style. The official @princeandprincessofwales Instagram account shared, “A pleasure to be back in SW19 for the finals of this year’s Wimbledon Championships this weekend. Congratulations again to Iga Swiatek and Jannik Sinner on your wins! And a huge thank you to everybody involved in making the tournament so special.”
