<p id=”par-3_30″>“It’s a time of uncertainty. She’s obviously had an operation for cancer. We were asked not to speculate what it was, but it was somewhere in the abdomen,” Sikora explained.</p>
<p id=”par-4_18″>“It was an abdominal operation. She’s having preventative chemotherapy, which is usually given for six months,” she continued.</p>
<p id=”par-5_23″>“The actual day of the treatments is usually not too bad. The day after, you feel very tired, and then it’s very unpredictable.”</p>
<p id=”par-6_23″>Sikora also explained preventative chemotherapy. The Princess of Wales revealed she was receiving this course of treatment in a<a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/C402JKPtLVB/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”> March 2024 Instagram post</a>.</p>
<p id=”par-7_48″>“The reason preventive, we call it adjuvant chemotherapy, is given is to reduce the risk of the disease returning. So, any cells that may have spread there’s nothing to see on the scans. But if we think there’s a risk of the disease returning, we give adjuvant chemotherapy.”</p>

<p id=”par-8_34″>After three months out of the public eye as she recovered from surgery and the beginning stages of cancer treatment, Kate Middleton shared a moving video message. There, she revealed details of her treatment.</p>
<p id=”par-9_27″>“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous. The surgery was successful,” she began.</p>
<p id=”par-10_37″>“However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team, therefore, advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,” she explained.</p>
<p id=”par-11_24″>Subsequently, Kate revealed further details of her health struggles in a<a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/C8NCRQKt4fA/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”> June 14 Instagram post</a>. She said she has “good days and bad days.”</p>
<p id=”par-12_59″>“I am making good progress, but as anyone going through chemotherapy will know, there are good days and bad days. On those bad days, you feel weak and tired and have to give in to your body resting. But on the good days, when you feel stronger, you want to make the most of feeling well,” the princess revealed.</p>
<p id=”par-13_53″>She stated, “My treatment is ongoing and will be for a few more months. On the days I feel well enough, it is a joy to engage with school life, spend personal time on the things that give me energy and positivity, as well as starting to do a little work from home.”</p>
