Kate Winslet Makes Intimate Admission

Hollywood star Kate Winslet has revealed that her earliest intimate moments were with other women. Speaking on a podcast to promote her recent Netflix movie, “Goodbye June,” the actress shared a revealing moment about how some of her first kisses were with other girls her age, a detail she hadn’t previously discussed.

Kate Winslet Admits Intimate Moments With Other Women

While appearing on the “Team Deakins” podcast, Winslet was discussing the 1994 movie “Heavenly Creatures.” While it is dark and macabre in parts, the film also features a love story between two female characters as they grow up together. This led to the admission from Winslet that she shared several same sex kisses in her younger days.

“I’ll share something I’ve never shared before,” she told the hosts. “Some of my first intimate experiences as a young teen were actually with girls.”

Winslet went on to elaborate that she had kissed both girls and boys as a youngster and didn’t feel like she was attracted to either sex more than the other at that time. She explained, “I’d kissed a few girls, and I’d kissed a few boys, but I wasn’t particularly evolved in either direction.”

“At that stage in my life, I certainly was curious, and I think there was something about the really intense connection that those two women had that I profoundly understood,” Winslet said while referencing the film. “I was so immediately sucked into the vortex of that world they were in that obviously became horrendously damaging to both of them, and they had huge insecurities and vulnerabilities.”

Earlier this month, Winslet opened up about the fact that she and her family never watch “The Holiday” over the festive season. Although it has become a classic Christmas film, Winslet isn’t particularly keen to sit down and watch it when relaxing with her family.

“No, we haven’t seen The Holiday for years,” she said when asked if she would be watching the movie that also stars Jack Black and Cameron Diaz: “We don’t sit down and watch films I’m in. I barely do.”

“You know, almost everything I’ve been in I’ve only seen once,” Winslet explained. “When you watch the finished product, for most actors, that’s an excruciating experience. It’s something you kind of have to go through.”
