Kelly Osbourne is the first of her family to speak out following the death of Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy Osbourne on Tuesday.
It’s been a devastating week for the Osbourne family, as 40-year-old Kelly, alongside her siblings Jack, Aimee, Louis, and mum Sharon, posted a statement announcing Ozzy’s death aged 76.
‘It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love,’ they said.
Kelly is now the first of the family to take to social media with her own personal tribute.
The reality TV star posted a simple statement on her Instagram story, writing: ‘I feel unhappy I am so sad. I love the best friend I ever had.’
Ozzy and Kelly were known for their close relationship, and he got to see Slipknot rocker Sid Wilson propose to her at the Back to the Beginning show weeks before he died.

The show, held in the band’s native Birmingham’s Villa Park on July 5, marked the first time Black Sabbath had performed together in 20 years, and was Ozzy’s farewell to the stage following years of health issues.
When Sid got down on one knee backstage – a moment that was captured on film – Ozzy couldn’t help but provide a gag.
‘F**k off, you’re not marrying my daughter, are you?’ he said, as the whole room exploded into laughter before Sid addressed Kelly.
‘Kelly, you know I love you more than anything,’ he said. ‘Nothing would make me happier than to spend the rest of my life with you.’
‘So, in front of your family and all of our friends, Kelly, will you marry me?’, he asked her.

Ozzy looked overjoyed in the aftermath of the surprise moment, asking his future son-in-law for a glimpse at the ring up close while a chuffed Sharon clapped along.
Sharon later revealed in an interview with TMZ that Sid asked for Sharon’s blessing three to four months prior.
He told Sharon that he was going ahead with the grand gesture at Ozzy’s final gig – but kept the music legend in the dark until the last moment.
Sharon added that she and Ozzy are ‘over the moon’ for their daughter, and that after the Black Sabbath frontman had recovered from the gig, they would hold a big celebration in ‘a couple of weeks’.
It’s unclear whether this celebration ever happened, as an air ambulance was dispatched to Ozzy’s Buckinghamshire mansion less than three weeks later.

Kelly shared a video of Ozzy on social media eating breakfast and waving at the camera, seemingly in good spirits, just two days before his death.
A source close to the family has said that Ozzy was at peace at the time of his passing, telling People: ‘[Sharon’s] deepest hope was fulfilled, and this is her focus now. Ozzy’s final days were spent in England, surrounded by family, music and in the place he called home. He was in peace.’
They added that his farewell concert ‘meant everything,’ and ‘brought his career full circle.’
In the months leading up to his death, Ozzy was open about his health struggles, having been diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2019 as well as enduring extensive spinal surgery in recent years.

In the run-up to the Back to the Beginning gig, Ozzy was under strict medical supervision, with his heart being monitored daily. However, he always said if he was alive, he would be on stage and give it ‘120%’.
According to concert-goers, he did just that.
In 2022, Kelly and her father spent precious time together while Kelly was pregnant with her and Sid’s first child.
While Sid was touring with his rock band, Kelly moved in with Sharon and Ozzy until she welcomed their son Sidney in November 2022.
‘I did everything with him for a whole nine months,’ she said of her father in an interview with People. ‘It was more than nine months because I moved back in with my parents when I was pregnant because Sid was on tour and I didn’t want to be by myself.’
She said the time was an ‘amazing experience’ she would ‘never give that back for anything’.
