But Consuelos proved himself to be equally as good of a co-worker as he was a partner for the veteran show host. And although working together had little bearing on the pair’s marriage, their home life did change in one small but significant way.</p>

<p id=”par-2_57″>After Ryan Seacrest left <em>Live with Kelly and Ryan </em>after six years of working alongside Ripa, Consuelos was nominated to replace Ripa’s old co-host. However, both Ripa and Consuelos were initially against the recommendation at the time. But the show’s network, who really wanted to cast Consuelos in the role, presented them both with a sound argument.</p>
<p id=”par-3_53″>“We’d be the last people on earth to suggest ourselves to work together for anything,” she said in an interview with <a href=”https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/live-with-kelly-and-mark-kelly-ripa-mark-consuelos-1235584054/”>Variety</a>. “They were putting the data in front of us, like, ‘Do you realize how much you’ve worked together in your careers?’ And it actually really started to make sense to us.”</p>
<p id=”par-4_68″>It was a good point to make since Ripa and Consuelos <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/kelly-ripa-accidentally-harassed-mark-consuelos-all-my-children-audition.html/”>did <em>All My Children</em></a><em> </em>for seven years. Prior to Consuelos’ official casting in the show, he’d also appeared and guest hosted on his wife’s long-running television series. So the <em>Riverdale </em>star already had some experience with the gig. Eventually, the two were persuaded to work together, with Consuelos making a seamless transition into his new role. </p>
<p id=”par-5_48″>But collaborating had subtle affects on their marriage that they once discussed in an interview with <a href=”https://www.eonline.com/news/1400216/kelly-ripa-and-mark-consuelos-share-why-working-together-on-has-changed-their-romance”>E! News</a>. Consuelos already knew that his wife was a hard worker. But he didn’t realize just how dedicated to her job she was until he had to walk in her shoes.</p>
<p id=”par-6_19″>“I knew that, but not until I had to do it everyday. She works really, really, really hard,” he said.</p>
<p id=”par-7_45″>Additionally, they were also impressed by how glamorous they looked in the morning. Ripa explained that they had completely different lifestyles and morning schedules before <em>Live with Kelly and Mark</em>. This changed when they both had to dress their best for their new morning routine.</p>
<p id=”par-8_26″>“She looks so nice in the morning,” Consuelos noted. “I see her on TV, but I actually see her in person. She looks so nice everyday.”</p>
<p id=”par-9_43″>But one other area of their lives that changed was the conversations the two had. Ripa and Consuelos used to be very open about their work days after coming home. However, there was little need for these types of conversations after becoming co-hosts.</p>
<p id=”par-10_48″>“Before we started working together, I would be somewhere shooting, and I would share my day with her, and she would share her day,” Consuelos recalls. “We talked about work a lot. We [now] don’t talk about work, I would say, at all — rarely,” Consuelos told <a href=”https://decider.com/2024/09/19/live-kelly-ripa-mark-consuelos-art-moore-michael-gelman-interview/”>Decider</a>.</p>
<p id=”par-11_34″>“For the most part, we don’t really discuss work at home anymore, because we already know what happened. So it’s not like we have to fill each other in on what happened,” Ripa clarified.</p>

<p id=”par-12_80″>It’s been announced that <em>Live with Kelly and Mark </em>will be making a historic change in venue. The show has been filming at 7 Lincoln Square at the Upper West Side since its 1987 inception. But starting on April, 14, 2025, the pair will be shooting the show from Disney’s Hudson Square Headquarters in downtown New York. Given how long Ripa’s been working at her old location, however, she couldn’t help but get a little sentimental over the move. </p>
<p id=”par-13_42″>Her husband was just as emotional, since the pair formed many memories on the show’s set even before they started working together. Although it wouldn’t be quite like <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/inside-kelly-ripa-mark-consuelos-27million-manhattan-home.html/?swcfpc=1″>leaving their $27 million Manhattan estate</a>, the couple still considered Lincoln Square their home.</p>
<p id=”par-14_29″>“Our kids grew up here,” Consuelos said in an interview with <a href=”https://people.com/kelly-ripa-mark-consuelos-say-goodbye-to-live-studio-after-37-years-exclusive-11706613″>People</a>. “They’d come visit mom here a lot — they were always backstage, even when they were babies.”</p>
<p id=”par-15_14″>Ripa further emphasized how the set has been a part of their family’s lives.</p>
<p id=”par-16_96″> “You have to remember, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/how-many-kids-do-kelly-ripa-and-mark-consuelos-have.html/”>I had my kids</a> back in a time when maternity leave was not really a thing; we didn’t really know how to negotiate that or navigate that,” she said. “But the good news is you could bring your kids to work with you. And because they’re very mindful of our hours here — as it is a live morning television show — I was able to be a full-time working woman and a full-time mother simultaneously, which is a very rare thing and not something I take fo granted at all.”</p>
<p id=”par-17_19″>But hopefully the move will inspire the couple’s family to create even more family memories to look back on.</p>
