Kerry Katona has named Chris Tarrant as the ‘rudest celebrity she has ever met’ as she opened up about her famous celebrity encounters.
The mum of four, 45, took to the stage on Monday evening at the Clapham Grand in London for an event titled An Evening With Katie Price & Kerry Katona.
Katie and Kerry sat side-by-side in the South London venue, where Metro was also in attendance.
While answering a quick-fire round of questions, Kerry was asked to name the rudest celebrity she’d ever encountered.
Straight off the bat, the star said it was former Who Wants to Be a Millionaire host, ‘Chris f*****g Tarrant’.
She later detailed that Chris, 79, was very rude to her, and she ended up crying in a bathroom over the comments he made to her.
This isn’t the first time that Kerry has spoken about her tense relationship with the presenter.
Writing in her column for New! Magazine in 2020, Kerry says that her ‘heart sinks even now’ when she thinks about her first interaction with Chris, who had left her in tears, after he reportedly called her ‘gobby, loud and rude’.
‘‘I went up to him to say hello and he told me – to my face – he didn’t like me [and] that I was “gobby, loud, rude and brassy,” what?’ she penned. ‘I was so disappointed. I went to the toilet and bawled my eyes out.’
Kerry also claims Chris ruled out appearing on a reality show because he ‘didn’t want to be stuck on an island with Kerry Katona’.
‘I have no idea what I did to him, but he must have it in his head that I’m a vile… I grew up idolising him and my heart sinks even now thinking about it,’ Kerry said.
Chris told Metro in 2016 in a candid interview: ‘I get asked to do reality shows but I don’t want to be stuck on an island with Kerry Katona.’
In an interview with The Mirror in 2020, Chris also commented: ‘I do remember [meeting]… She was upsetting everybody.
‘I think you can imagine. Oh gosh, a monster. She was just all over the place, we were trying to do charity stuff and she kept butting in and eventually, I probably did say, “Why don’t you go away?”‘
In the same appearance, Kerry also spoke about kissing Robbie Williams back in the day, before he was married to his wife, Ayda Field.
When asked if she had kissed the Angels singer on stage, Kerry said: ‘Yeah’, adding it was after she and ‘Brian [McFadden] split up’ – which was in 2004.
She added it was ‘Years ago before he was ever married.’
She then joked: ‘I need to sow a few seeds. I’m quite happy!’
Writing in her New! column in 2020, Kerry revealed she almost slept with Robbie, 51, in a rendezvous after they met backstage at Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.
‘Apart from Brian, the closest I’ve got to a big celebrity s**g is Robbie Williams, no less. We met backstage at Saturday Night Takeaway, soon after my split from Brian,’ she wrote.
‘Rob obviously took a shine to me as he asked if he could come to my hotel room that night. I was dead nervous – I called my mum and she told me to shave my legs, but I wasn’t thinking about anything like that! Sure enough, at 10pm, he was outside my door.
‘He came in and we chatted for hours about all things paranormal and spooky. Next thing, he asked if he could stay the night – in my mind, not for any funny business. So I said yes, went to put on my PJs, came back, and he was by the bed wearing just his Y-fronts! I thought he was about to give me a personal rendition of Rock DJ!
She added that he quickly left after realising the situation: ‘I was fully clothed, and although we had a little smooch, I’d no intention of taking it any further. And I think when Rob realised that, he was on his way.’
She added that she was still a fan of the Millennium singer: ‘I love Robbie to bits and it always makes me chuckle to think how close he came to being one of my very few celeb conquests!’
