The Skims founder, 44, posted a series of Instagram Stories sharing heartfelt moments from the event. Her legal mentors praised her for completing the four-year apprenticeship program, part of California’s path to becoming a lawyer without attending traditional law school. During the celebration, Kardashian wore a tan graduation cap and stood on a small stage, surrounded by her children, close friends, and family.

Kim first expressed her desire to study law in 2019. Since then, she’s become deeply involved in justice reform, using her platform to help bring national attention to cases like Julius Jones’s, whose sentence was eventually commuted.

Rather than taking the traditional law school route, Kim enrolled in a California legal apprenticeship program — a hands-on path that lets aspiring lawyers study under a licensed attorney and still qualify to take the bar exam.

“Six years ago, Kim Kardashian walked into this program with nothing but a fierce desire to fight for justice,” said her mentor, attorney Jessica Jackson, in a speech at the ceremony. “No law school lectures, no ivory tower shortcuts — just determination and a mountain of case law books.”

Jessica shared just how much time Kim devoted to her legal education: 18 hours a week, nearly every week of the year, for six years. That added up to over 5,000 hours of study — all while balancing her life as a mom of four, running her businesses, filming a TV show, and advocating in courtrooms.

In December 2021, Kim passed the First-Year Law Students’ Examination — also known as the “baby bar” — on her fourth try. She’s now one step closer to her goal, with the California Bar Exam left to take before she can officially practice law.

A Family Affair: Kim’s Kids Join Her for Graduation Day

Kim’s backyard graduation wasn’t just a milestone for her — it was a proud moment for her entire family. Her 5-year-old son, Psalm, was photographed carrying a mini briefcase and wearing a tan suit and tie, a nod to his late grandfather, famed attorney Robert Kardashian Sr.

Her daughter, Chicago, 7, wore a pinstripe suit inspired by Kim’s own 2023 visit to Harvard Business School.

The celebration even featured placemats made out of Kim’s old flashcards — a small but touching detail that captured how much time and heart she poured into her studies.

Khloé Kardashian also shared a sweet tribute on Instagram. “I just left her celebration lunch for graduating law school. I mean, I cannot believe this is years and years in the making,” she said in a video. “I’m so proud of her. This was just such a cool accomplishment.”
