Kim Kardashian has revealed the inspiration behind her black leather body-con concoction for this year’s Met Gala.
The billionaire businesswoman and reality star put up an Instagram post explaining her muse was none other than rocker Lenny Kravitz.
The post features 14 pictures of Kim from pretty much every angle on the Met Gala’s blue flowered carpet. In it, Kim writes, “2025 Met Gala: Superfine Tailoring and Black Style. Inspired by Lenny Kravitz, a modern dandy whose fluid, bold aesthetic, alongside icons like Jimi Hendrix and Miles Davis, pioneered distinct and culturally significant aesthetics – shaping the way men dress for generations to come. Lennyâs signature Chrome Hearts style perfectly captures the spirit of this theme – Black style, razor-sharp tailoring, and dandy tradition.”

While Lenny Kravitz didn’t attend the 2025 Met Gala, his appearance on the carpet in 2022 did feature similarities to Kardashian’s Chrome Hearts look this year.
Kravitz wore an all-black Chrome Hearts leather ensemble comprising of dress pants, a corseted top with sheer sleeves, and a sheer cape.
In an Instagram post at the time, Kravitz wrote, “It was wonderful to be in my hometown at the Met, directly across the street from where I grew up. Kim Kardashian’s Met Accessories Were Worth a Small Fortune
Kim Kardashian topped off her leather look with a whole lot of bling.
The extravagant diamond necklaces and earrings that Kim sported were provided by the UK-based jewelry house Moussaieff Jewellers.Â
According to Newsweek, the collection is worth as much as $12.5 million. It’s not known whether the luxury gems were loaned to Kim or if she purchased them.

In fact, Met Gala host Vogue declared Kim Kardashian the winner of the 2025 Met Gala after parties thanks to her outfit change into a corseted leather and lace ensemble by designer Dilara FındıkoÄlu.
