Kiss lead guitarist Ace Frehley has died aged 74 from injuries suffered during a fall last month.
The iconic guitarist is said to have suffered a brain bleed after he fell and hit his head in his home studio, according to TMZ.
Frehley’s family have now confirmed the news in an emotional statement, which reads: ‘We are completely devastated and heartbroken.
‘In his last moments, we were fortunate enough to have been able to surround him with loving, caring, peaceful words, thoughts, prayers and intentions as he left this earth.
‘We cherish all of his finest memories, his laughter, and celebrate his strengths and kindness that he bestowed upon others.’
The statement provided to Variety continued: ‘The magnitude of his passing is of epic proportions, and beyond comprehension. Reflecting on all of his incredible life achievements, Ace’s memory will continue to live on forever!’

Formed in 1973, Kiss is widely regarded by rock fans and industry figures alike as one of the most influential rock acts of all time.
The band have been celebrated and recognised for their musicianship and theatrical live performances by several generations.
As of 2025, the band has sold an estimated 30million albums globally, having released a whopping total of 30 certified Gold records, which is the most by any American band in history.
Among the bands to have cited Kiss as an influence are the likes of Metallica, Pantera, Slipknot, Foo Fighters, and Weezer.
The tributes have already started to pour in for the Kiss icon, with Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides describing Frehley as a founding member of ‘the most important American rock and roll band of all time’.
Biersack added in his X post: ‘While I did not know him personally, he and the band have been a part of my life since my earliest memories. The impact KISS has had on me is immeasurable.

‘None of what I do exists without them and generations of guitar players would have never picked up the instrument if it were not for his signature style and swagger. Ace is one of a kind and a rock icon in every conceivable sense of the term. RIP to the space Ace.’
US rock radio host and music historian Eddie Trunk writing on X: ‘It has now been officially confirmed and released by the family that my friend of 40 years @ace_frehley has passed away.
‘This is beyond words for me on many levels. My condolences to Jeanette, Monique and all the fellow fans.’
