Kneecap have become well known for their political statements, and their Coachella set was no different as they took aim at Margaret Thatcher.
The popular American festival has opened its gates for the first weekend, with punters queuing for hours to get into the campsites.
Coachella is beloved by celebrities with many famous faces sure to be spotted over the two weekends: April 11-13 and April 18-20.
Kneecap took to the Sonora stage on day one, rapping their hit tracks Get Your Brits Out and Fine Art.
The Irish trio — Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Próvaí — closed the set with a rendition of H.O.O.D. but not before they launched into a raucous chant.
‘Maggie’s in a box’, the group loudly sang to the tune of KC and the Sunshine Band’s Give It Up as the crowd joined in.

This was a very obvious dig at the late former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, who died on April 8, 2013.
The Iron Lady had been staying at the Ritz Hotel in London for several months when she died after struggling with the stairs at her home in Belgravia.
Her tenure as PM has remained contentious, particularly with communities most affected such as Northern Ireland, where the band is from.
‘KNEECAP DOING THE MAGGIES IN BOX CHANT AT COACHELLA IS FUNNY I LOVE THEM,’ said djohalflife on X.
‘Kneecap gettin the crowd to sing “Maggie’s in a box” at Coachella 🤣,’ laughed JustRollinOn86.

Some watching from home claimed the stream dropped out as they chanted, also seeming to cut out their ‘Free Palestine’ statement.

‘Did Coachella just censor Kneecap for singing maggie’s in a box omg,’ asked recklessbIoom before quickly adding: ‘They’re back nvm!’
Paul_afraidies shared: ‘Kneecap getting censored on the Coachella stream is right on brand.’
It’s unclear if the stream drop was intentional or just a well-timed glitch. Metro has reached out to Coachella for comment.
This isn’t the first time Kneecap have spoken out against Thatcher, in an interview with PoliticsJoe last year they let their feelings known.
They were confronted with a post that said: ‘Mrs Thatcher will be remembered long after Kneecap are forgotten.’

‘That’s true. She’ll be remembered as a c***,’ Móglaí Bap replied as Mo Chara added: ‘She’ll be remembered as a brutal b******.’
Just last month, the severed head of a British King’s statue appeared on stage with Kneecap nearly a year after it was stolen.
‘Well well a chairde Gael [my Irish friends]! Some madman dropped by with a huge King George’s head so he could hear a few tunes for our last Melbourne show!’ the band posted on Instagram.
‘Allegedly his head was cut off last year in the city..…anyways he was put on stage for a few tunes and then whisked away…remember every colony can fall 🔥’
