Leanne Morgan Has Big Shoes to Fill- Her Own
When it comes to Netflix comedy specials, Leanne Morgan has big shoes to fill.
And those shoes are her own.
Leanneâs first Netflix comedy special, “Iâm Every Woman,” is the streaming service’s most viewed comedy special by a woman comedian since 2023.
The success of her first special led to a deal with Netflix for two more specials.
“Leanne Morgan: Unspeakable Things” is the first. The comedian told The Hollywood Reporter that the next special is slated for 2027.
Netflix Sitcom ‘Leanne’ Continues to Hit Big With Fans
Fans of comedian Leanne Morgan have turned her Netflix sitcom “Leanne” into a top ten hit and a viral sensation, with some saying they’ve binge-watched the first season’s 16 episodes in one session.
Now one media outlet- Film Fanatics- is reporting that “Leanne” has been picked up for a second season.
While Netflix has not released official word of a renewal of the series, there’s good reason to hope that Film Fanatics’ inside scoop is legit.
The show has been a hit for the streaming service, with devoted fans bombarding Leanne’s social media sites with questions about when they can see more.
In an August 26 Instagram post, Leanne took her fans on a tour of her sitcom’s set, explaining that she specifically asked that her fictional home be pretty, because her home in Tennessee is pretty.
But while her fictional and real life homes may be similar, the plot of “Leanne” does not reflect the comedian’s real life.
Leanne told The Hollywood Reporter, âThat was Chuck [Lorreâs idea]. He didnât want to base it on my real family. And he liked the idea of starting over because itâs a theme that people can relate to. I balked at first. But I think itâs the smartest thing we did because I really wouldâve felt protective over my children, my grandchildren and [husband] Chuck Morgan.â
Leanne Morgan Continues to Tour
If a sitcom and a standup special aren’t enough, Leanne Morgan continues to tour the country doing standup. Fans can catch her live in person on her âJust Getting Startedâ tour.
