Comedian Margaret Cho shared a strongly worded takedown of JK Rowling and her views about trans people in a fiery new video.

The comic and LGBTQ+ rights advocate, 56, held nothing back as she slammed the Harry Potter author to her 309k followers on TikTok and shared her hopes that the writer’s pubic hair would be like ‘steel wool’ in menopause.

‘Shut up JK Rowling, shut up. You’re a joke. That’s why your name is JK, cause you are a joke,’ she exclaimed.

Wearing a t-shirt in the trans pride flag colours, she continued: ‘Your anti-trans rhetoric makes me sick. You are despicable.

‘I hope that when you face menopause, you have to take a lot of gender-affirming care, as I do. And when you are taking these hormones, they make your pubes grow out so thick and hard it’s like steel wool.

‘And if anyone goes down to eat it, they get a face full of scars. I hope they start calling you barbed wire.’

After her lengthy description, she concluded once more: ‘Shut up, JK Rowling.’

The video has already accumulated 40k views, with the All-American Girl star’s followers sharing plenty of support in the comments as they too, shunned Rowling.

It’s far from the first time she has publicly called out those with controversial views about the trans community.

Just a few weeks ago, she took to Facebook to call South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace a ‘stupid b****’ who is ‘killing trans people’ after the rep called herself a ‘proud transphobe’.

And earlier this year, she called fellow stand-up Dave Chappelle ‘uneducated, negative, and destructive’ for his comments on them.

Meanwhile, the children’s author has faced plenty of criticism for her vocal views on the transgender community, which many have characterised as harmful towards the marginalised community.

Earlier this year, she was called out after helping fund For Women Scotland, the group which brought a legal challenge to the Supreme Court, who eventually ruled in favour of them over the definition of a woman.

The decision was met with outcry from trans rights activists and allies.

Her views have led to calls for boycotting the upcoming HBO Harry Potter TV series and prompted former Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson to express their solidarity with the trans community.

At one point, Rowling shared she would ‘never forgive’ them and doubled down on this stance after a recent podcast interview with Watson, where she lamented a conversation was ‘never made possible’.

Responding to the Little Women star’s comments on X, Rowling called her ‘ignorant’ in a lengthy statement blasting the actor.

Many of the actors involved in the various upcoming Harry Potter projects, including the TV show and audiobook, have been challenged on their decision to be involved in something that directly financially benefits the controversial writer.

Most recently, Keira Knightley was asked about whether she had heard about the calls to boycott the show.

‘I was not aware of that, no,’ Knightley said in a new interview with Decider.

She continued with a laugh: ‘I’m very sorry.

‘I think we’re all living in a period of time right now where we’re all going to have to figure out how to live together, aren’t we? And we’ve all got very different opinions. I hope that we can all find respect.’
