Liam Gallagher has taken aim at a ‘seriously f***ed up’ fan who launched a flare in the mosh pit at their most recent concert.
After wrapping up their UK tour over the summer, Oasis have headed to Australia to perform six shows in Melbourne and Sydney.
However, during their show at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on Thursday night, a fan let off a flare. Footage circulating on social media shows a man standing in the crowd dancing as he holds the pyrotechnic – which was set off while the roof of the stadium was also closed.
Soon after, Liam declared on stage, while wagging his finger: ‘That was naughty. Naughty, naughty, naughty.’
The band’s frontman then went on to launch a foul-mouthed tirade at the dangerous action the morning after.
‘To the massive C*** who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne you are one seriously f***ed up individual and you will get yours trust me,’ he posted on X.
Metro has spoken to several fans who were some of the 50,000 people attending the concert and saw the flare go off as Champagne Supernova played.
‘It went off during the last song and was definitely out of the blue,’ Jordan McArdle, who flew from Perth to attend the gig shared.
‘I was pretty far away from it, but it went into a very crowded area of the mosh pit and was lucky not to have injured anyone as far as I know,’ he said.
‘I have no idea how they managed to get it through security though, which is concerning!’.
Meanwhile Fran Willix, who had also flown from Perth to attend the concert with her teenage daughter, said she was unaware at the time what had actually happened.
‘When I saw the flare I thought it was odd but didn’t register it because it was during such a huge song and everyone was so excited about that,’ she said.
‘Before the band had come on stage, there had been inflatable beach balls flying around so it seemed to be another thing in the air.
‘But reading Liam Gallagher’s comments and seeing the news today, I’ve registered how serious it was.’

She added: ‘Security going into Marvel Stadium was very tight, so I’m not sure how they got it in. There were lots of people who were drunk, so maybe the person who set it off was pi**ed and had no regards for the rules.’
Many others have declared the act ‘scumbag behaviour’ that was a ‘near-disaster’.
While there have been no arrests made, Victoria Police have confirmed setting the flare off at the stadium is an offence under the Major Events Act.
However, they said the incident has not yet been reported to them.
In Victoria, individuals illegally using flares or fireworks can face fines of up to approximately $96,155 (£47,926) and a potential prison sentence of up to five years under the Dangerous Goods Act.
Earlier in the evening, Liam had told the crowd how excited the band was to be back performing in Australia after decades away.
‘G’day Australia! Did you miss us?’ he asked the crowd before adding: ‘Because we missed you!’
Their last show in the country was in late 2005 for their Don’t Believe the Truth tour.
Oasis will next play two shows at Accor Stadium in Sydney next weekend, alongside bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell, and Joey Waronker.
However, guitarist Mike Moore has replaced original member Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs for Australian and Asian legs of the tour as he undergoes treatment for prostate cancer.
In a statement released early last month, the 60-year-old announced he wouldn’t be playing shows in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne and Sydney gigs.
‘Early this year I was diagnosed with prostate cancer,’ he began.
‘The good news is I’m responding really well to treatment, which meant I could be part of this incredible tour.
‘Now, I am having to take a planned break for the next phase of my care, so I’ll be missing the gigs in Seoul, Tokyo, Melbourne and Sydney.
‘I’m really sad to be missing these shows but I’m feeling good and will be back ready to go in time for South America.’
He concluded the post by sharing: ‘Have an amazing time if you’re going this month and I’ll see you back onstage with the band in November. Bonehead. X.’
Arthurs is due to return to the stage on November 15 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, one of the final five concerts of the tour.
Metro has contacted Marvel Stadium for comment.
