Lindsay Lohanâs return to Hollywood is turning heads, especially in her own household. While promoting her upcoming film âFreakier Friday,â the actress shared a heart-melting story about her young son Luaiâs reaction to seeing her on television. Now that Lohan is back in the spotlight, it seems even her toddler is starting to realize that Mommy might just be a movie star.
Lindsay Lohan Shares Adorable Moment From Talk Show Appearance
Lohan was a guest Monday night on âThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonâ and she spoke about an unforgettable moment earlier that day with her son. Luai, age 2, watched her appear on âGood Morning Americaâ and had a very sweet reaction.
âActually, this morning, he was with my in-laws and my husband and I were doing Good Morning America, and he was like, âMommy, come out! Mommy!ââ Lohan laughed. âHe thought I was stuck in the TV.â
As Fallon waved toward the camera to reassure little Luai, Lohan admitted that sheâs becoming more mindful now that her son is old enough to notice her on screen. âNow that heâs getting older and more aware, Iâm kind of scared. I donât want him… to get confused,â she explained.
Lohan also shared which film from her career she would feel most comfortable letting Luai watch as he gets older. âHerbie: Fully Loaded,â she said, calling it a fun, car-centric pick thatâs perfect for kids.
âFreakier Fridayâ Marks Lindsay Lohanâs First Onscreen Role as a Mom
The upcoming sequel to the 2003 hit âFreaky Fridayâ is especially meaningful for Lohan. Not only does it reunite her with co-star Jamie Lee Curtis, but it marks the first time sheâll portray a mother on screen in a full role.
âI played [a mother] in âLabor Painsâ for a second at the very end, but you didnât see it,â Lohan told EW. âIâve never played a mom before onscreen, so itâs special to me.â
Curtis, who is a mother of two in real life, took the occasion to heart as well. She gifted Lohan a necklace engraved with their childrenâs names, which both actresses wear during the film. âThe necklace Iâm wearing, which I also gave to Lindsay, has our childrenâs names engraved on the back,â Curtis revealed. âItâs the first time Iâve ever worn something of mine as Tess.â
As Lohan continues her comeback, she emphasized that her roles now have to align with her responsibilities at home. âThey need to work for my family,â she said. âIf something works around that, itâs meant to happen. If it doesnât work around that, itâs a no-go.â
âFreakier Fridayâ hits theaters August 8.
