Another “Love Is Blind” couple is splitting up. Lydia Gonzalez shared a heartfelt post Wednesday, June 11, announcing her marriage to Milton Johnson is over.
The two met and fell in love on season five of the popular Netflix show. The couple was married for almost three years when Gonzalez decided to file for divorce.
Gonzalez wrote a lengthy, heartfelt Instagram post on the split. She added a photo montage of the couple in happier times over their time together.
“Our beginning was truly magical, it was a love story that you read in books, and it felt like a fantasy, a fairytale,” she began. “As I write this, people aren’t aware that I asked to go our separate ways, not because I don’t love you but because our love story has come to an end.”

Gonzalez did not share the cause for the split and tried to focus on the positive that came out of the relationship.
“Thank you!! Thank you for the beggining of our love story, thank you for choosing me as I was. It is because of that man I saw at the altar that I know what I deserve now,” she added.
She noted she hopes Johnson will find happiness in the future.
“Forever the first man that chose me and loved me for being me! I wouldn’t trade it even though I am in pain,” she bravely said.
She concluded her post by adding, “I wouldn’t change our marriage for anything, forever you have taken a piece of my heart with you, I loved you beyond the beyond, and for me Love will always be blind.”
Johnson has not commented on the split. His last Instagram post was February 2024 of the two.

Gonzalez shared more details on the split when she appeared on the Wednesday, June 11, episode of fellow “Love Is Blind” alum Amber Desiree “AD” Smith’s podcast, “What’s the Reality?”
She revealed the couple have been split for months, but she wasn’t ready to talk about it in the public.
âIâve been quiet for too long, not necessarily because I didnât have anything to speak of, more because I wasnât ready for other peopleâs opinions and judgment,â she told Smith.
Gonzalez said she was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in September 2024 and that put additional strain on their marriage as she felt Johnson could have been more supportive.
