Lauren and Cameron Hamilton are sharing exciting news about their growing family, announcing the gender of their first child in a creative and heartwarming way that perfectly captures their journey to parenthood.
The “Love Is Blind” season one couple, who have been open about their four-year fertility journey, revealed they’re expecting a baby boy through a newspaper-themed video that showcased their joy and anticipation for their little one’s arrival this fall.
Creative Gender Reveal Celebrates Their Journey
The Hamiltons chose a unique approach to share their baby news, creating a custom video that began in black and white with a newspaper being delivered to their front door. The creative reveal featured “The Hamilton Herald” with the headline “Baby Hamilton Gender Revealed.”
As the couple picked up their personalized newspaper and opened it to the back page, the video transformed from black and white to full color, revealing the exciting news. “Extra! Extra! It’s a boy! A little prince is on the way coming to a crib near you,” the newspaper announced.
Lauren, 37, immediately began jumping with excitement while Cameron, 35, pumped his fist in the air. Blue smoke appeared behind the soon-to-be parents, and the video concluded with the couple sharing a sweet kiss before continuing their celebration.
Prior to the official reveal, Lauren had some fun with traditional gender prediction methods, sharing a video where she went through common pregnancy folklore. Most of the old wives’ tale predictions pointed toward a girl, with only a few suggesting a boy, making their actual announcement even more special.
A Long-Awaited Blessing After Years of Trying
Both challenges and moments of joy have marked the couple’s pregnancy journey. Speaking with People in May about their pregnancy announcement, they shared the emotional reality of their fertility struggles and the relief they felt when finally receiving positive news.
“We’ve literally been trying to get pregnant for four years,” Lauren revealed. The couple underwent IVF treatment and had experienced the anxiety of previous pregnancy tests that left them uncertain about the results.
Cameron described the moment they discovered Lauren was pregnant, explaining how they both went into the bathroom to check their Clearblue test. “We flipped [the pregnancy test] over. We saw the word pregnant, and that was just a huge moment to actually see the word pregnant on the test,” he shared.
“A relief,” Lauren finished her husband’s sentence. “Because, well, we’ve taken a few pregnancy tests and when you use the ones with the lines, it could be anxiety driven because it’s like, ‘Is that what I think?’ So seeing the word pregnant, it was amazing. We just looked at each other. I fell to my knees and cried.”
The pregnancy announcement came at a particularly meaningful time for Lauren, following the loss of her father at Christmas the previous year. She described the positive test as “literally light in the darkness” for her entire family.
