The 99th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will return to New York City on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025. The celebration begins at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time and is expected to run until noon. NBC will broadcast the parade live, and Peacock will offer streaming access across the United States, ensuring viewers nationwide can catch the annual spectacle, NBC News reports.

When It Begins, How Long It Lasts

Television viewers on the East Coast should tune in at 8:30 a.m. Eastern. The broadcast is scheduled for roughly three and a half hours, ending around noon. For viewers who cannot watch the live airing, NBC will show an encore at 2 p.m. Eastern Time and Pacific Time, according to USA Today.

The early morning start allows the parade to unfold before many Thanksgiving meals and other holiday traditions, making it a convenient event for families. Spanish-language coverage will be available on Telemundo, NBC News reports, giving more audiences the chance to enjoy the festivities.

The Route and What the Length Means on Foot

The parade travels a 2.5-mile route, beginning at West 77th Street and Central Park West on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. From there, it moves south to 59th Street, turns east onto Central Park South, then heads south along Sixth Avenue, and concludes at Macy’s Herald Square at 34th Street and Seventh Avenue, NBC News reports.

Spectators attending in person are advised to arrive early. Popular viewing areas along Central Park West between 61st and 75th streets fill quickly. USA Today recommends arriving by 6 a.m. to secure a good spot, particularly if you want to see crews inflate and lift the giant character balloons.

Why the Timing Matters

Viewers across the country can catch the parade live on NBC or stream it via Peacock. NBC News notes that the broadcast will be available in all U.S. time zones. For families unable to get up early, the 2 p.m. encore offers a chance to see the highlights of the parade, including floats, balloons, marching bands, and live performances.

The parade remains a central part of Thanksgiving traditions in the United States. It signals the start of the holiday season for millions, whether they watch from a Manhattan sidewalk or their living room couch. With the 8:30 a.m. start and a three-and-a-half-hour schedule, the 2025 Macy’s Parade ensures a festive morning for viewers of all ages, according to NBC News and USA Today.
