A 61-year-old man has been found guilty of stalking an I’m A Celebrity star after sending ‘sexual’ letters and a gun.

Peter Windsor, of Stechford, Birmingham, was convicted of the offence after posting an air pistol, handcuffs, a police uniform, and ‘disturbing’ unwanted letters to TV and radio star Myleene Klass.

Ms Klass, who was awarded an MBE earlier this year for her work on women’s health, told Birmingham Crown Court last week how she felt ‘sheer terror’ after being sent items by Windsor.

Letters to the 47-year-old TV personality included pleas to ‘whip me, beat me, priestess Myleene’ as well as calling her ‘a naughty vixen’.

Windsor was also convicted of stalking Ms Klass’s Classic FM colleague Katie Breathwick.

Ms Breathwick told the court of her horror at receiving the letter with details of a DIY will-writing kit and other ‘raving’ and ‘unhinged’ mail from Windsor, which left her in fear for her safety.

Taking to the witness box last week, where she was shielded from Windsor’s view by a screen, Ms Klass became upset when she was asked about being told how Royal Mail had ‘intercepted’ a gun addressed to her.

She had been on the school run with her children at the time when the police rang to tell her about the weapon, which was an air pistol.

‘He said that whilst this gun wasn’t necessary for a licence, at close proximity, right up to six feet it could prove fatal,’ the TV star and radio presenter told jurors. ‘I think anyone receiving a gun would be terrified.’

‘I was extremely shocked because suddenly it felt extremely real. I think we spend so much time as women trying to justify why we feel the way we do, have we misinterpreted it? There was no grey area here, there was a gun in a box with my name on it,’ she added.

Windsor has since been diagnosed with schizophrenia and claimed to be not guilty by reason of insanity.

The 61-year-old had also denied stalking both Ms Klass and Ms Breathwick by sending items to Classic FM’s central London studios between March 2020 and August 2024.

Jurors reached their unanimous guilty verdicts on Tuesday after deliberating for four hours and eight minutes over two days.

Windsor, wearing a grey sweatshirt, sighed and pursed his lips in the dock as the verdicts were announced.

Judge Tom Rochford told Windsor, who has been on remand throughout his trial, that the options for his sentencing next month include prison or two types of hospital order.
