‘Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Actress Passes Away After Tragic NYC Accident

Veteran actor Wenne Alton Davis — known for a memorable appearance on “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and several other television credits — was tragically killed in a pedestrian-vehicle collision in Midtown Manhattan on the evening of Monday, December 8.

The sad news was first reported by The New York Daily News.

She was 60 years old. She previously played a cop on the hit Amazon Prime show.


Davis Will Be Missed

According to police and multiple sources, Davis was crossing Broadway near West 53rd Street — reportedly with the pedestrian signal in her favor — when a black 2023 Cadillac XT6 SUV turned left and struck her shortly before 9 p.m. 

Paramedics rushed Davis to Mount Sinai West Hospital after she suffered severe head and body trauma.

She was pronounced dead later that night. The 61-year-old driver remained at the scene and, as of the latest updates, has not been charged.


Her Work and Legacy

Davis — whose real name was Wendy Davis — used the professional name Wenne Alton Davis. Over the years, she built a steady career with small but significant roles.

In 2023 she appeared as a police officer in an episode of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” one of her most recent credits, according to IMDb.

Prior to that she appeared in television series such as “Girls5eva,” “New Amsterdam,” “Blindspot,” and “American Odyssey.” Her résumé also included a role in the 2011 film “Shame” and earlier work in a 2004 short titled “Ladies Room.”
