Matt Damon has offered advice to best friend Ben Affleck amid swirling scrutiny about his marriage to Jennifer Lopez, it has been claimed.
The couple, dubbed Bennifer by fans, reunited in 2021 after nearly two decades apart, and got married the following year.
However, they have been met with intense rumors over the last few months, with speculation that they are close to getting a shock divorce – two years after tying the knot.
Although neither have spoken about the claims publicly, it has now been alleged that Matt attempted to ‘warn’ the Batman star, 51, that issues could arise once more, following his initial split from the Love Don’t Cost A Thing singer, 54, in the early 2000s.
‘Matt tried to warn Ben when he got back together with J Lo that this could happen,’ an insider told DailyMail.com. ‘Matt was there to help Ben get it together after their first split and he felt like this would happen again.’
‘As things started falling apart, Matt told Ben that he supports whatever choice he makes but wants him to jump in and focus on his work.’

The pair have been close friends since childhood and have one of the most famous friendships in Hollywood.
They regularly collaborate on projects together, including Good Will Hunting – which they won the best original screenplay Oscar for in 1998 – most recently, they both starred in Air last year, which Ben also directed.
According to the source, the dad-of-three has always held Matt’s opinion in high regard over the years, and has been in ‘awe’ of his long marriage to wife Luciana Barroso.
‘Matt has had a successful marriage for years and Ben has always been in awe of this,’ they continued. ‘Ben spent so much time focusing on J Lo’s projects just like he did the first time around. He told Ben, “What has she ever done for your career?”

‘Matt is the only real guy friend Ben has.’
Bennifer first dated in the early 2000s and were planning to walk down the aisle, but eventually went their separate ways and moved on.
Nearly 20 years later, the world was sent spinning when they decided to give things another go in 2021.
Ben opened up about their reunion in Jennifer’s recent documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, revealing that he initially wanted their reunion to remain away from the spotlight.
‘Getting back together, I said, “Listen, one of the things I don’t want is a relationship on social media.” Then I realized it’s not a fair thing to ask,’ he said.

‘It’s like, you’re going to marry a boat captain and you go, “Well, I don’t want the water.” We’re trying to learn to compromise.’
According to new reports, the Batman actor, 51, allegedly feels as though he was ‘temporarily insane’ over the last few years with the mom-of-two, describing them as a ‘fever dream’.
‘If there was a way to divorce on grounds of temporary insanity, he would,’ an insider claimed to PageSix, suggesting that he has now ‘come to his senses’.
‘He feels like the last two years was just a fever dream, and he’s come to his senses now and understands there is just no way this is going to work.’
