Matty Healy, the lead singer of the 1975, has seemingly confirmed his rumoured engagement to Gabbriette Butchel.
Butchel posted an Instagram story from Charli XCX’s New York City concert that seemingly references the artist’s new album, Brat.
The picture show’s Butchel’s hand with a large black ring – that very much matches her goth aesthetic – on her ring finger.
She captioned the post: ‘MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY BRAT.’
The next post on her story showed her pouting in a mirror and showing off the large jewel.
Healy soon reposted the story, seemingly confirming the rumours that the pair are in fact headed for marriage.

According to People, Butchel and Healy have been dating since September 2023.
The pair have faced plenty of criticism online, but Gabbriette apparently doesn’t mind, telling HighSnobiety, ‘I don’t give a sh**. I think it’s hilarious. Go for it. Have fun. People have a lot to say. You don’t know me at all.’
Butchel is a model, singer, and fashion it girl. She was selected by Charli XCX to front the punk rock band Nasty Cherry, whose rise to fame was documented in the reality series I’m With the Band: Nasty Cherry.

The band dissolved amid the COVID pandemic in 2021.
Butchel has been friends with Charli since 2016 and was recently in one of her music videos, and is even mentioned in the song’s lyrics.
Healy’s new fiancee has also modeled for brands like Savage X Fenty, Heaven by Marc Jacobs, Betsey Johnson, Diesel, Dolce and Gabbana, and Miaou.

The news of the couple’s engagement comes after Healy recently made headlines for featuring prominently in his ex girlfriend Taylor Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poet’s Department.
The album included tracks about Swift’s romance with the 1975 frontman. From defending her love story in But Daddy I Love Him to painfully watching her ex visit The Black Dog pub, fans have identified a number of so called ‘diss tracks’ about Healy.
But when confronted about the controversy, Healy claimed to have never listened to the album.
