Millie Bobby Brown has announced she and Jake Bongiovi have adopted a baby girl.

The Stranger Things star, 21, shared the happy news in a joint post on social media with her husband Jake, 23.

‘This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption,’ she began.

‘We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy.’

The post ended with a lovely sign off: ‘And then there were 3. Love Millie and Jake Bongiovi.’

Netflix star Millie and model Jake – the son of rocker Jon Bon Jovi – tied the knot last May, a year after their engagement.

The nuptials were said to be a low-key affair, with only family and friends watching as the pair ‘quietly said their vows’ in America, before a second wedding in Italy in October.

While the initial wedding was hush-hush, It’s My Life rocker Jon – now Millie’s father-in-law – confirmed the news in an appearance on The One Show.

He said of the newlyweds: ‘They’re great. They’re absolutely fantastic. It was a very small family wedding, and the bride looked gorgeous, and Jake is happy as can be.’

Millie grew up from the age of 11 to 20 playing telekinetic child Eleven on the hit supernatural series Stranger Things, and has since settled down quicker than her contemporaries.

In an interview with Vanity Fair in their March cover story, Millie admitted she didn’t have many friends, as she ‘struggles’ with ‘social skills’ when it comes to people her age.

She and Jake live on a huge farm in rural Georgia surrounded by sheep, goats, cows, donkeys, horses, and nine – yes, nine – dogs.

Discussing her relationship with Jake and their secret marriage, Millie explained in the interview how they thought about it deeply before taking this big step.

‘We talked about our political views, what kind of family we want to build, the kind of home we want to live in, the kind of relationship we’re looking for, the kind of careers we want,’ Millie said.

‘It’s such an important decision, and we wanted to make sure we were making the right one. I knew I was. It always felt right with him.’

It’s good timing for Millie, who wrapped filming the last ever season of Stranger Things in December.

The fifth series of the hit show will be released in three batches; four episodes on November 26, three episodes on Christmas, and the finale on New Year’s Eve.

The last season hurrah kicks off in the beloved – and frankly creepy as hell – town Hawkins, in autumn 1987.

‘Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna,’ the official synopsis reads.

‘But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding.

‘As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming – and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before.

‘To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone – the full party – standing together, one last time.’
