Mindy Kaling has revealed she welcomed her third child after keeping her pregnancy a secret.

The Office actress, 45, shared the exciting news on social media alongside a series of sweet family photos, whilst also revealing her daughter’s name.

‘In late February I gave birth to my daughter, Anne,’ she wrote on a post with a photo of her three children lying on a picnic rug in her backyard.

‘She’s the best birthday present I could’ve ever imagined. When things are hard, whenever I veer towards cynicism, my three kids are such a great reminder of the pure joy in my life.

‘I’m so lucky I live in a place where I could do this by myself, on my own timeline. Thanks for all the birthday wishes!’ she added.

John Legend, Julianne Moore and Andy Cohen also offered their congratulations in the comments.

Many fans also expressed their shock that they’d managed to hide her pregnancy yet again, after doing so with her other two children.

Mindy, who also created The Mindy Project, Never Have I Ever and The Sex Lives of College Girls, also has two other children; a daughter, Katherine, born in December 2017, and a son, Spencer, born in September 2020.

She has kept the paternity of her children private.

The actress also previously told People she chose to keep their faces off social media, sharing: ‘I feel like I might as well wait until they get old enough so they can tell me if they want to be part of my social media or not.’

However she said it could prove hard at times.

‘I’m like any parent where I’m proud of the things they do. I think they’re so cute, and of course, I want other people to see it.’
