Acting icon Miriam Margolyes has revealed just how much she actually earns from making personalised videos for fans on Cameo.

The 83-year-old star is famed for her unfiltered approach to interviews, including telling Harry Potter fans to grow up and swearing at every turn.

While her six-decade career has spanned movies, TV, and theatre she’s become an internet darling thanks to her hilarious fan clips, often posted on social media.

Speaking on Loose Women on Thursday morning, Miriam shared she has earned a whopping six-figure salary from her fan videos.

‘Since Covid I have made £365,000 through cameos and personalised videos,’ she told the shocked panel on the ITV show.

Miriam charges $170 (£135) per video, which usually lasts around two minutes with options for any topic from advice to a happy birthday message.

Her cheeky videos add to an estimated net worth of around $6million (£4.7million) and are intended to help fund her care in later life.

The Age of Innocence actress continued: ‘One day I will need carers. I want to be comfortable and I want them to be properly paid for. It is really because I want to make money though and they pay me to do it.’

Host Kaye Adams jokingly asked: ‘Is there anything you wouldn’t do for money?’

Never one to mince her words, Miriam responded: ‘I wouldn’t eat s**t. Am I allowed to say that?’

‘No,’ came the reply from the presenter as the panel fell about laughing, prompting the Harry Potter legend to hastily add: ‘Oh ok I wouldn’t eat faeces.’

This isn’t strictly true though as she previously shared how she turned down £500,000 offered by Marvel to appear in ‘a show about witches’ — clearly the Wizarding World is where she draws the line.

Last year, Miriam’s fans were concerned when she shared via social media that she had been hospitalised with a chest infection.

Sharing an update via Facebook at the time, the Olivier Award winner said she was glad to be ‘resting’ and thanked ‘the very fine doctors and nurses’ for taking care of her.

She has now recovered from the illness and was on top form for her appearance on she daytime TV show to promote her memoir.

‘I don’t give a poo about being cancelled,’ she shared of concerns surrounding her second book. ‘I have had certain things excised by the legal people as I’ve said things that could be libellous.’

Miriam added: ‘I think it’s more allowable when you’re older but I’ve always been rude and upfront, I’m just like that.’
