Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry walks on stage during the 2025 Miss Universe national costume presentation in Nonthaburi, north of Bangkok, on November 19, 2025.

The victim was 28-year-old Gabrielle Henry, a model and MD who specializes in helping the vision impaired. She was crowned Miss Jamaica back on August 9. Henry was competing in the evening gown event when she took the fall, which resulted in her being carried away on a stretcher and taken to a hospital.

Thankfully, the beauty queen is safe and not reported to have sustained any life-threatening injuries, per a statement put out by the pageant’s organizers. People says the statement explained, “The Miss Universe Jamaica Organization wishes to advise the public that Dr. Gabrielle Henry, Miss Universe Jamaica 2025, experienced a fall from the main stage during the evening gown round of the preliminary competition ahead of this weekend’s Miss Universe Finals in Thailand.”

The statement also noted doctors will “continue to conduct tests to ensure her full recovery.”

Miss Jamaica Fell After Stepping Off Edge of Stage

Hola! reports Henry fell due to “stepping off the edge of the stage without realizing it.” The outlet says Wednesday’s event where the accident occurred was a “pivotal” part of the contest, which is being held in Pak Kret, Thailand at Impact Arena.

Each contestant is required to walk in her national costume, a swimsuit, and an evening gown in an effort to make the finals, per the story.

Hours before the fall, Henry shared video footage to her Instagram Stories while getting her hair blow-dried in a cream-colored waffle robe. “On to the next one! Prelims swimsuit and evening gown!” she excitedly wrote, adding an emoji of the Jamaican flag to show her pride.

Fans Showed Support After Miss Jamaica’s Scary Fall

Miss Universe fans flooded Henry’s page with support after her fall. One wrote, “Dear Miss Jamaica, I deeply sympathize with what happened to you and you have my full support. I truly hope you recover very soon and that tomorrow you can shine with all your strength on the final night of Miss Universe.”

Another said, “My heart dropped to watch the clip of your fall from the stage. My thoughts, prayers, and well-wishes for a prompt recovery. Godspeed, Miss Jamaica, Gabrielle Henry!”

Henry does not appear to have posted on social media or made any public comments about her fall at this time.

Miss Jamaica’s fall from the Miss Universe stage is not the only high-profile upset in the pageant’s history. Back in 2015, announcer Steve Harvey famously read out the wrong name when announcing the winner.
