More Stars Join ‘Devil Wears Prada 2,’ Including a Fan-Favorite From ‘The Office’

The front row just got a major upgrade. From comedy favorites to rising indie stars, “The Devil Wears Prada 2” is assembling a bold new cast that’s ready to strut into the stylish chaos of Runway magazine. Among the latest to join the fashion-fueled sequel? According to Variety, Lucy Liu, B.J. Novak, Justin Theroux, and Pauline Chalamet are joining the cast!

They won’t be the only newcomers shaking things up at Runway magazine. The sequel is also adding fresh stage and screen talent, including Broadway stars Helen J. Shen (“Maybe Happy Ending”) and Conrad Ricamora (Oh, Mary!), as well as comedian Caleb Hearon.

Two Familiar Faces Return to the Fashion Fold

In addition to the new blood, “Devil Wears Prada 2” is bringing back a few familiar characters. Tracie Thoms will reprise her role as Lily, Andy’s handbag-loving best friend.

At the same time, Tibor Feldman returns as Irv Ravitz, the Elias-Clark chairman who loomed large over Runway’s operations in the original film. They’ll reunite with the core quartet: Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci — all of whom are back to reprise their iconic roles.

Inside the Sequel’s Plot: A Power Struggle at the Runway

While Disney’s 20th Century Studios has yet to confirm official plot details, the story reportedly follows Miranda Priestly (Streep) as she battles to stay relevant in a rapidly changing media landscape.

According to multiple reports, the plot will center on the decline of traditional print publishing, and Priestley is forced to go head-to-head with Emily Charlton (Blunt), her once-loyal assistant who has since become a high-powered executive at a luxury conglomerate. The two clash over the same pool of advertising dollars — and the stakes are higher than ever.

All About the Fresh Cast Members in ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ Sequel

Lucy Liu, known for her work in the Charlie’s Angels trilogy, “Kill Bill”, and Netflix’s “Set It Up”, adds her signature screen presence to the ensemble.

She reunites with Justin Theroux, her “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” co-star, who has also appeared in “Miami Vice”, “The Girl on the Train”, and “Beetlejuice”.

B.J. Novak — writer and star of “The Office” — joins the cast following his 2022 directorial debut, “Vengeance”.

Pauline Chalamet, breakout star of HBO Max’s “The Sex Lives of College Girls” and sister to Timothée Chalamet, adds another rising name to the lineup.

The sequel is currently in production and scheduled to hit theaters on May 1, 2026.
