Morgan Wallen Breaks Silence on Infamous ‘SNL’ Exit in Hilarious New Interview

During Pressley’s latest Sundae Conversation interview featuring Glenn Balls, Wallen joined the YouTube sensation for just under six minutes, 5:53 to be exact, and somehow both managed to leave the audience in stitches with their hilarious banter.

Known for creating awkward situations and making them funny, Pressley fired off questions covering nearly everything Wallen has been involved in over the past few years. Safe to say this gave the singer a chance to explain himself with his signature quick-fire humor.

One highly anticipated topic was Wallen’s unexpected exit from “Saturday Night Live” on March 29, when he walked off stage during the closing credits while Mikey Madison was speaking. “Seriously,” Pressley began, “did they make you mad?” Wallen responded with perfect comedic timing: “No. I was just ready to go home. I’d been there all week.”

Boom. Classic Wallen, dropping the mic, revealing there was no animosity toward the cast or the show, and shutting down any rumors of backstage tension.

Beyond the SNL moment, the trio discussed Wallen’s personal life and the infamous 2024 chair incident, which took place in Nashville at Eric Church’s venue, right by where the interview was filmed. Wallen had been arrested after throwing a chair off a rooftop bar. “Hopefully I don’t violate my probation by being here…!” he joked while filming inside his own establishment, This Bar, located near Church’s venue. “Are you on probation right now?” Pressley asked. Wallen nodded, replying, “Mhmm… shout out to my PO.”

Wallen also teased an upcoming collaboration with Canadian pop artist Tate McRae on the track “What I Want,” set to appear on his new album, releasing May 16. He jokingly admitted he wasn’t sure if McRae was Irish or even if “McRae” was her real name, adding a playful touch to the conversation.

He even touched on The Morgan Wallen Foundation, which supports youth programs in sports and music and helps communities in crisis by providing access to food, supplies, and more.
